Disagree. Once upon a time I lived in a building where it turned out a guy on another floor was a serial killer. The police/forensics stripped his apartment. When I say stripped, they removed the bath tub, shower, the sinks, the pipes, carpets, flooring, ceiling boards, insulation and the sheetrock. It took about ten days in all. They had the guy for three murders and were able to charge him with several much older murders by working from evidence they found in/on those items. This was a 400k population sized city with a relatively low murder rate. ETA this was at least 20 years ago.

I don't know how they do things North of the border, but I was JF and I'd murdered my wife in my house, I'd be moving somewhere without an extradition treaty.

I'm speculating Alberta as it is the only deeply conservative province in Canada that is viable (good infrastructure, decent job market, etc). Think of it as a Canadian Texas.
