Unironically yes in some prisons they do that, I visited a prison recently in which they had offered classes in body work for cars , agriculture education, remedial schooling, art classes , and the ability to train dogs for being service animals.

Yes, a lot of prisons have programs for convicts who want to reform, and get an education or learn useful skills. But a lot of convicts don't want to reform. So they do drugs. Or they lift weights. Or they get into fights. Or they fuck each other, consensual or not. Anything to pass the time

Thats how it works in most of state healthcare for all . State healthcare if you cannot afford waiting for months to get looked at with lower quality of care that they will patch you up . Its there to give choice to people as lowering the upper costs for necessary services if you want to skip line and enjoy while you get care, you pay extra but not by a much. Other things they do is make medical school cheap and available to the best and have same amount of residence placements that students graduated without bankrupting families and indebting graduates.


You want cheap healthcare, make medical school cheap/ debts massively forgiven if you work for few years in state healthcare and have residency placements for all that graduate.

As far as I know private and state are totally seperate here.

You’re not paying for a surgery at a state hospital, it’s a privately owned private hospital with their own doctors etc. (Granted, doctors may be public doctors moonlighting there.)

If you can get a hip replacement for less than $20K in Scandinavia, it seems that there’s something totally out of wack with the American healthcare system. Don’t know if it’s salaries or insurance premiums, but SOMETHING.

My father currently has cancer. He is not a rich man, having been a construction worker and builder my entire life. Even if his surgery is successful, there is no chance he is going back to work like he once did. As of this shooting, he has been approved for parts of the operation that he previously had to pay out of pocket for.

"The right" has only gained power because "the left" has forgotten about these people, who are everywhere and suffering. But if you choose to stand in the way of the people, you shall be shoved out of the way.

The silver lining is that he doesn't seem to be radical left or radical right. He's an ivy league techbro that posted a bit about birthrate decline and the dangers of coomerism. He also read and agreed with Uncle Ted, possibly had a debilitating back surgery and took issue with the way that the medical industry is run (which all of us, right, left or center, agree that US healthcare is insanely overpriced and unethically run; but it's better than waiting for care in Britain or being offered a nitrous oxide pod in Canada). I do not know if radical centrism can exist, but he's definitely the posterboy if I've ever seen one.

It really depends from prison to prison. And from jail to jail. From what I’ve heard.

The real hardcore prisons where you are for a decade or more, tend to be pretty chill in the medium wings. People know they’re in for a long stretch, so try and make the best of it. They’re also more lax with more programs for the inmates, iPads/tablets, etc.

One thing is for sure, my guy Luigi won’t lack for penpalsmand commissary money.

If he plays his cards right, he may even get married to some admirer and get conjugal visits.

It ain’t ideal, and it’s not like a Euro holiday jail, but it sure as shit is better than being in county lockup with a bunch of feral niggers.
