I think as of the last update (~3 months ago) he was still waiting for permits for his tunnel which he was probably never going to get. If he is still digging his tunnel he probably won't be posting about it and will be greatly slowing down the work (it took him ~4 months to do 30 feet, and it will slow down as he has to ferry the stone farther, deal with more water and worse air circulation) so I doubt he could have dug much more tunnel.

Ehh, I feel some ill will because he’s destroying his land in a way that can have effects (noise level, ground stability, etc.) on the neighboring properties. It reminds me of the complete selfishness of the Tranch and all those innocent dead alpacas.
