I was listening to a little bit of some of the highlights, theyve went back and clipped stuff from the really really old EFAPs. The one from episode #3 where they respond to movies with mike's take on Thanos is very frustrating to me. The first is that mike's take is stupid that the infinity war movie is bad because it's bleak, the second is he then quotes maggie mae fish saying the movie is bad because "what if a kid was being hit by her dad and then saw thanos didnt win?", the third most frustrating thing is EFAP like most MCU people dont understand why Thanos is a good character

Marvel slop is so low quality, even when it was good, that a genuinely nuanced character broke the marvel audience's brains. you had the thanos did nothing wrong people, then you had OSP saying thanos loving gamora is a plot hole, then you have the efap people who cant defend thanos as a nuanced character and instead try to justify why his plan makes sense. His plan, whether you agree with it or not, is insane because it's a plan he's not doing for altruistic reasons. The whole psychological part of Thanos' character is how he half-self deludes himself and the other half is that he's pursuing his plan just to try to prove himself right. The plan's logistical practicality is irrelevant to the character's journey

I miss Jay exci in the cast, did they have a falling out or something? Cause thems a troon now?
Jay has been distancing himself from the efap crowd for a few years now. He's been getting more invested in getting into tranny circles and posting on Twitter. He's also gotten into public slap fights with efap regulars like Jlongbone and Az.

Sort of inevitable, Mauler is very diplomatic, but plenty of his guests are political/cultural opposites. When Rekieta Law got on, he made fun of "trannies" and the rest of the guests got real quiet whenever he said that word. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

I'm interested, how did the slapfight between JLongbone and Jay go? Cause one of them is a queen, the other trooned out because of his girlfriend; I know who I support in that dispute.
Even after I stopped listening to EFAP in 2021 I'd still enjoy rewatching the Gotham High readings that JLong would do with some of the regulars.

EFAP's most lasting legacy will be introducing people to creators more talented and entertaining than Mauler's hangers-on while he languishes in increasing irrelevancy.

I gotta say, I miss the perfect storm which was God of War Ragnarok followed up by the Last of Us TV show. It felt alive ehre and shit was happening, people were talking smack, we found a few new things about Mauler.

Ever since then his show never got that spicy, it was still dragged out and insufferable due to weird tangents but it just got boring. Like rn I tried to listen to some new Efaps, I didn't take away anything from it. There was nothing that stood out to me as worth bringing up on the thread. It's just what you would expect.

The only observation I was able to have was watching Mauler play videogames and kind of figure out that he really just straight up goes into a thing with his mind already made up. Like it feels whenever a product comes out he determines at the start if he likes it or not and then blindly seeks to ripp everything about it or to justify and praise everything.
And that's not very interesting. There's no insight, just an unfunny show that wastes your time.

He did prove himself right. That’s why he did his plan on a bigger scale. And the writers wrote themselves so hard into a corner that they had to time travel so the Thanos they actually need an entire army to defeat does not know who they are. The plan working is very crucial to the journey. The plan working on a large scale and Thanos being robbed of his victory after the fact by them jumping to another universe is critical to the ending of the film,

The problem is indeed as you say people trying to determine weather the plan would logicaly make sense when the movie works on the rule of ‘we say it does so it does, roll with it please’

Of course we have history proving that the less people means more resources to go round.

But as you say even if it does make sense that isn’t the point.

They really oughta drop the facade of objectivity.
Mauler is actually pretty objective in his solo videos. It's just in the podcast that they go for groupthink. Part of it is that the hosts don't complement each other. Initially Mauler was the reasonable one, Wolf the emotional/angry one and Rags was the light hearted one. But now Fringy and Rags fill the same role in the discussion so they just all agree more instead of bouncing back and forth with ideas. Star Grift with Mauler, Ryan Kynnel and SW Theory had a much better host dynamic than EFAP does. Since they rarely agreed fully, they actually had discussions.

Isn't fringy the superautistic green guy, he fits much more as a mauler type of personality that just endless circlejerk and agree with each other.

Nah, Fringy often drops "deep" words about philosophy or political history but he almost never says anything meaningful. Both Fringy and Rags are kinda funny, but never say anything original or interesting, unlike Mauler who's usually able to lead a discussion.

The green face is to hide that he's a nigger, in case you didn't know.
It's weird how both Rags and Fringy cling onto their personnas. Rags used to be much more open about being a furry, and Fringy open about being a black in Australia. Now both cling onto being a dog or a green plague doctor.

I think its because they're no longer special, so now they need to cling to these personas as only means as "Hahah! See, Im still above yas!"
