Diseased Rowling Derangement Syndrome - "TERF/Woke Author Bad!!1"

As much as I admire Ms Rowling, I've not seen a single one of the Harry Potter movies, or read anything she's written, but I do enjoy my sci-fi fantasy books, shows and movies. Words fail to describe how disappointed I've been with total shit like Rings of Power and that Star Wars abomination with the lesbians or whatever they were. It's fucking dire, nothing to watch now but the football. Potter fans should lower their expectations.

Imagine parasites taking over massive multinational corporations and buying up IP and their first idea is "we have a built-in audience that guarantees financial success" and their second idea is "let's take a giant steaming shit on top of the IP and make everyone hate it because woke."

Snape is a contemporary of Harry's parents, so he's barely past 30 when the saga starts. Rickman was a good 25 years older than the part but no one minded.
When the first movie came out I (and many other Potter fans) was about Harry's age, ie the age where there's not much difference between a 30-year-old and a 50-year-old, they're both just old. I don't know if that age difference would fly now that the audience is between those two ages.

Rickman was just a beast of an actor and he could make it work for the films. I really feel as though you have to treat movie Snape differently from book Snape.

Shacklebolt was described as black in the books (which is why some "Rowling was bad all along" haters claim she gave a black man a name that implies slavery on purpose or something) and Angelina Johnson as well. Blaise Zabini was also later revealed to be black.
And Lee Jordan. Really she was always unambiguous when it came to describing characters that were black. The fans that were taking her comments about the stage adaptation as a reason to grasp at straws like "Hermione's hair is frizzy in the books, she must be implying black textured hair!" were bonkers.

This just shows how absolutely desperate they are to paint Rowling as a bad person to justify their hatred of her.

It’s probably much more likely that she named him Shacklebolt because he’s a COP - the head of magical law enforcement.

A little shaky? Alan Rickman wrote in his journal that Emma's acting began to fizzle upon entering adolescence.
My friends and I watching the movies, ourselves adolescent at the time, noted that Emma’s eyebrows did all of her acting for her. That continues to this day. I feel intense sympathy for her if she got Weinstein’ed, but she’s not a good actress.

Also, that kerfluffle over corsets during Beauty and the Beast was ridiculous and just so on-brand for her shallow feminism. Belle’s dress is iconic and she turned it into a yellow sack.

Just got this shit on my youtube recommended. No I'm not watching it lmao.
A self-prophecy if ever I saw one.

Rowling generally doesn’t put much thought into names. McGonagall is named after a famously bad poet because she liked the name. Harry Potter is named after a character from a Monty Python sketch who gets turned into a Scotsman. Dumbledore is a random Cornish word she liked. Most likely she heard something about locks and the word “shacklebolt” stuck with her.

What I find fascinating is once (some) people get diagnosed as autistic they modify their appearance and behaviour to fit their new identity.

There is a bit in "A Year in the Life of JK Rowling" where she goes through the parish records of her childhood church and changes colour suddenly and explains she just came across a Harry Potter name that she had forgotten taking from there.

EDIT: 7 minutes in:

There is another youtuber whining about Rowling named Caroline Easom and boy her voice and how she speaks is worse than nails on a chalkboard. Just listening to this hideous harpy makes me want to punch her, it sounds really that bad.

What an unfortunate looking woman.

Curly frizzy hair. Big empty fish eyes. Nervous, dopey, awkward smile that isn't quite a smile because they're not 100% sure how to smile.

Bit of a 'James Harries' physiognomy going on.
