It could work well if the robot systems were considered strategically vital infrastructure and treated as such. That means they'd be developed like a military craft, with specialized hardened circuit boards and CPUs that are completely different from civilian tech and which use their own communication protocol that doesn't go over the Internet or cell phone networks. And the software would be written by white men without a single pajeet in sight.

Unfortunately the defense contractors themselves can't maintain these standards anymore so you can be sure the entire system would be written by the lowest bidder in Bangalore with Chinese backdoors installed from day one.
