The thing is RE4 got away with it by being one of the best games ever made. I'd say most anger towards it came from the aftermath of it becoming the standard formula that got pushed too actiony with Resident Evil 5 and went to complete dogshit with Resident Evil giraffe blowjob. RE4 is still a horror game filled with puzzles where as 5 and giraffe blowjob are mainly action and spectacle, hell most of 5 takes place in broad day light the only horror is the brown people. Yeah the incredibly popular best selling horror series definitely needed a change up, especially after the 3/ code Veronica weirdness, but way to many baby parts got tossed with the bathwater and crippled the franchise for a good decade. There's a very small minority in the Resident Evil fanbase that hates RE4 because of how drastically it changed the genre. They were mad that their niche horror series got turned into an action game. Yet they fail to realize when RE4 came out, gamers were tired of the same formula of the old games and many agreed that a soft-reboot was needed.
Yeah, they were scary big. Australopithecus (second picture, right) was the human ancestor that lived during that era, and the one being eaten in that picture. As to why Dinopithecus went extinct, the leading theory is that they were systematically hunted down and exterminated by hominids (likely Homo erectus; second picture, middle) sometime during the early Pleistocene. So is the baboon that big and the artist combined the inspirations?

I fucking love RE4, the OG is still better than the remake. I'll die on that hill.
Why does Australopithecus have the exact body shape of a bulldyke lesbian.Yeah, they were scary big.
