Please don't victim blame. This kid seems like they don't come from a particularly good home, and it's likely that they might've experienced some kind of abuse in their real life that they're now also acting out again with adults on the internet. To claim that a 15-year-old should instantly recognize that an adult that they look up to a lot is using them for their gratification, and that it isn't normal, is to disregard the insidiousness of a person like Synni who actively chose to keep messaging a kid about her fucked-up rape fetish instead of turning off the computer or at least talking to a degenerate of a similar age.

In regards to Synni and Eno's situation, I agree with Grave Danger on the basis that Eno shouldn't be blamed for the situation in the slightest. Even if we do conceptualise that yeah, Eno could have known better at that age, it doesn't take away from the fact that the attention needs to fully be on Synni for doing that anyways.
No matter how many times a kid asks to talk about that stuff, a normal person would never even want to respond, let alone have to stop themselves actively from responding.

Pitting the blame onto Eno just shifts the conversation away from the actual perpetrators, and onto the innocent 15 year old who's only crime was getting caught up in all the attention from an older person in a position of power.

I think if your teenage daughter can’t be trusted to use the internet without exchanging explicit images with other adults, she shouldn’t be allowed that privilege at all. For her own safety. Sorry if you feel differently.

Don't think anyone's contesting that logic, we're just saying we should be focused on the adult in the situation rather then pitting blame on the kid who obviously doesn't know better via your own words. That's more of a general issue of parents not paying attention to their kids online activity, which is exactly what creates more Birdies. I think we're all on the same side here, just wanting to keep on track without sounding like assholes to straight up kids.

I’ve been theorizing her horrorcow status for a while now, I think it’s spot on. Ironically it was her treatment of Synni that opened people’s eyes.
I truly never got the impression Synni is a danger to anybody. She is just painfully autistic and violated social ettiquite. Imagine my shock when the people who never shut the fuck up about ableism, never picked up on something so obvious if they just read between the lines. In an ideal world, it would be handled firmly and compassionately, by someone who cares deeply about Synni. We will never know how that could’ve went though, because a certain ferret fucking menace decided to exploit the situation and make it all about her insatiable blood lust and need to hurt other people.

I am still boggled by the fact that people didn’t pick up on how evil it was of her to exploit a highly sensitive and emotional situation, and use it as a cover to enact horrible behavior against another person. This is the apex of red-flag behavior, and it only adds to the horrorcow aspect, that all of Birdies fans and cohorts, are too fucking brain dead to realize how bad it actually is.

I don't think Birdie is going to be a horrorcow at this point. He is a Chris Chan tier lolcow in terms of being heavily documented all the time.

I try to not power level here, but I wasn't deal the kindest deck of cards when I was born. I struggled a lot in school and slacked off in my teenage years, failing all my classes after essentially dropping out (not officially, I just... stopped showing up for 3 years). When finals came around, I failed them. Then I failed my first set of retakes.

When I was 17 (the country I live in has a different school system than to US), I realised... what the fuck am I doing? Why am I giving up? Why aren't I putting in the minimal amount of effort? So I went back to school and got my basic qualifications. I did a shitton of my own studying at home because I still struggled with how information was presented, but I was putting in a lot of my own effort to learn it. And then started taking engineering courses. And then I got a good job, and moved out of my parents place.

Birdie is so interesting to me because it feels like she's the bad ending for how my life was going. I know firsthand that you can turn your life around, and she's been given so many opportunities to do so. She just... hasn't, because she breaks down at the slightest pushback.
