I'm mostly a silent watcher. I've been watching Chantal since like...2016. I've watched the development of gorl world and their subsequent implosion(s). I am floored that Milk Tea is as loved as she is, it seems no one has any thing to say about her in the main thread and I RARELY see anything here. Watching her videos where she reacts to Chantal and goes "oh I could NEVER eat that much" or gives condescending advice on how Chantal should do her makeup (calling her sweetie, etc.) gives off the vibe that she's trying to emulate the mean powerful girls from middle school (or whatever the UK equivalent is) that probably bullied her. This is even more annoying because her makeup is terrible and she's overweight too.

I think maybe for me I just find the reactors that are like "I'm so much better and more put together and classy" even more repulsive than the reactors that are lolcows themselves. Because really, if you were so classy and put together, you wouldn't be making videos every day about some bald bitch in Kuwait.

I had to shut off the chat, then listen to Berlindur's recap of the chat. Seeing all the regular GorlWorld YouTube chatters, all pooling together like turds at a sewage treatment plant bustling for their final destination, would be void-staring, and we only have so much wiggle room left there...

I incorrectly predicted that FFG would rage-quit. I was correct in predicting she would be uncomfortable. She treated it like a police interrogation. When Chantal was streaming round the clock, I found Milk Tea a good source for summaries. Some of her insights into Middle Eastern life were interesting.

A couple of things got to me, though.

First, the woman has pulled out her hair to the point that she looks like a damaged bird (there's an old pic in the thread of her, bareheaded). She continues to do so. Some might pursue therapy and/or medication. Milk Tea buys disposable, destructible wigs. Seems to miss the point, but it's her head. (Still, I have to wonder what her colleagues think -- alopecia?)

The second is her speech style. Once I realized she talks to her audience as if they are primary school ESL learners, I couldn't un-hear it, yeah? She has this almost tic, yeah, of pausing at phrasal boundaries for comprehension check-ins, yeah?

It sounds condescending. Given that she's aware she falls into "teacher voice," it is condescending, coming from someone doing prerecorded content.

It's Chantal, not Finnegans Wake, yeah?

Call me crazy, I would assume that if one had a show, like Keem does, one would want to know what the heck they were actually talking about, so as not to look like total retards.

They (Keem, Wings and Boogie) just get up, spew barely researched garbage, outright lies and exaggeration. They let their “Chantal experts” not cam up, and spin tall tails, where THEY are victims of Chantals abuse, despite the years of evidence proving exactly the opposite. No pushback whatsoever, even though all them have gone through the online abuse that bled into real life harassment, akin to Chantal.

I would maybe care, but again, Chantal hasn’t done one thing to help herself. She could have struck Corie Ruth’s and FFG’s channels, she doesn’t. Honestly, I’ve seen my share of Milk Tea videos, and I think the reason she gets the love she does is because of her personality. She has a cheerful personality and is still able to tear apart Chantal’s arguments and rip her a new one without skipping a beat. Also, she doesn’t try to hide her issues in terms of weight, hair, or makeup.

The other big thing is that Milk Tea is able to do her videos without turning her channel and her web presence into a Internet Bloodsports tier shouting match where she and Chantal and GW/HN go blow for blow and video for video yelling and swearing over each other.

She seems more like the school principal who tells you straighten up before it’s too late to turn your life around, and leaves you feeling like you got your ass reamed when she’s finished. It’s really something.

Also, if you want condescending, maybe Chicken Pickle could fit that bill (but no advice. Only judgment.)

Milk Tea has been quite open with her struggle with her weight leading to having bariatric surgery. She also lived in Saudi Arabia and now lives in Oman, teaching Omani kids at a school. So she has quite an understanding of Arabic culture and can explain issues such as Chantal's marriage. Being of the same age as Chantal, it is interesting to see the contrast between them.
