WOW AKIRA, I HOPE THEY DO THE LE EPIC BIKE SLIDE

It's Star Wars outlaws but without the Star Wars brand, how much can this shit really hope for?
Considering the likely budget ($250 million minimum, probably much more than that) and how badly TLOU2 has ruined Naughty Dog's perception among normies, it's going to be a herculean struggle on their part to sell this to a large enough audience to make the money back, especially with how they are marketing the game.

Spider-Man 2, an already established IP, featuring one of the most popular characters in fiction, and the sequel to a well-regarded game, barely broke even for Sony, and this despite them not promoting how woke the game was via marketing.
You guys don't seem to realize how much of Naughty Dog's girldick is in these people's mouths. It may not be an established IP, but it's Naughty Dog.

They must mean the Netflix Cowboy Bebop :story:

That was before Druckmann decided to remind everyone he's Jewish by caving Joel's head in with a golf club. Sony disabled comments for the trailer for a reason.
Exactly, Naughty Dog has not been something worth respecting for like 5 years and before that they were only doing TLoU remakes. They have had 0 output anybody has given a real shit for a very long time. That they have their soy faggot screeching for them doesn't mean that they are legion. TLoU2 was beat by fucking Days Gone, the game already has that stink of "modern game" and it will start as a PS5 exclusive, it has all of the features to fail miserably.

They did, for damage control obviously, but that's just it, they're gonna do damage control and astroturf this turd across the finish line. Metacritic will delete bad reviews again, it'll get 10's, media will run defense, etc.

I'd like to be proven wrong, but I'm usually right about this kinda stuff.

I'll admit, this is a little encouraging and quite based. Hopefully the negativity doesn't peter out.

Hahahaha, yeah, I think things will go swimmingly for this one. I'd love to be a fly in the wall in Cuckman's wife's boyfriend shed and see how much he must be SEETHING at people not seeing "his vision".
Yeah, TLOU2 sold as well as it did off of deception and because they still had a good reputation. They sold 4 million copies at launch and then it took them 2 years to reach 10 million copies. That's because the majority of the original 4 million copies are from the goodwill they earned with their earlier games/TLOU1 (the Fox X-men film franchise is one of the best examples of goodwill from predecessors determining opening weekend sales). This game was labeled the greatest game of all time and received every single award under the sun. Random trash magazines and websites that had never even talked about video games, let alone given out awards for games, decided to award TLOU2. Despite all this deception and forced hype, the game took 2 years to sell 6 million copies despite it tanking to bargain bin prices rather quickly.

They've burnt up all their goodwill and hype. We're probably only going to hear about the launch sales if we're lucky, kind of like how Astrobot has ZERO sales data announced other than the 1.5 million units in its first month.

You can kind of predict where the plot is going to go... hmm... a retro futuristic setting with brands and pop culture from the 80s earth. Protagonist has to go to a mysterious planet that no one has returned from for 600 years and has a shattered moon that looks suspiciously like earth's. hmmm.... Then we have the cryptic quote about generations needing to suffer...

I feel like we are being setup with an "It was earth all along" style twist. I assume humans were for some reason cast away from earth to become an intergalactic diaspora, who eventually have forgotten their roots on earth and why they are obsessed with brands and 80s culture.

This character makes Kay Vess from Star Wars Outlaws look like Syndee Sweeney.
I don't know why it's so hard for these people to just admit they put their thinly veiled fetishes in games.

That said, the branding stuck out like a sore thumb, the use of a CD player to play le quirky 80's song stuck out, and the "totally not a lightsaber" made me completely lose any interest.

Ignoring any of the political/woke/whatever shit around the game, from a sci-fi fan's perspective - it looks fucking stupid.

Maybe Starfield wasn't as bad as we all thought after all... (but it was)

BioWare with Dragon Age 2? I mean, arguably, both companies follow the same trajectory of decline, though I think NG is speedrunning the mutation just like CDPR.
People seemed to still like Mass Effect 3 and even Inquisition, which came after, despite complaints about certain elements. Naughty Dog jumped straight into the fucking gutter after TLOU, basically. Then again, people still try to defend Uncharted 4 for...some reason.
Andromeda killed Bioware and TLoU2 killed Naughty Dog.

Maybe sounds like hyperbole but I think this is the game that will determine whether Sony allows their first party devs to keep making woke slop or not. They've been "getting away with it" for years but it's always been in already established brands, and for shit like Concord you can always just blame the fact it was a $40 live service game in a saturated genre (that is cope of course.) This will be the first new IP single player tentpole game that is fully infected. They already know this hence the fact comments are disabled on the video.

Cause make no mistake this is no doubt a super expensive game that will need to sell millions of copies to be successful. If it does not do that I expect Sony to start freaking out in a way they did not with Concord since that was just random shit they bought mid-development, as opposed to something from one of their oldest studios (who also have no other source of income because they make 1 game every 4 or 5 years at this point.) I doubt the financial damage will be as large in comparison but the message will be pretty clear.
For real! Looks mighty expensive and Soyny is not made out of money. If the sale of Kadokawa (or whatever it is called) goes through and their entertainment offerings keep losing them money, they will be in the red.

It's quirky! Like Guardians of the Galaxy! People liked that!
Yeah but the Guardians were likeable.

Also, Sony chucked a lot of bills this year to Geoff, "A SONY GAME MUST WIN, EVEN IF IT'S A TEPID ITERATION OF A MARIO GAME FROM A GENRE WE ALL WANTED TO ACT WAS DEAD AND BURIED!". What a wretched fucking year.
Sony makes games for the pretentious devs. Not for us.

They must mean the Netflix Cowboy Bebop
Well, they can't say that.

I don't know why everyone is being so negative, I love our 4B movement Trump protesting shaved head enby qweeeen, slay!

Slightly off topic but since DA2 was brought up I'm currently playing through it with 0 nostalgia and while it doesn't live up to Origins (also played for the first time with no nostalgia) I'm honestly enjoying it for what it is. Which is way more than I can say for Joel's Golfing Sim.

A lot of the sales were the result of Sony bundling the game with the console.
