Sony hate thread

I don't know if it counts as browsing but the Sega Megadrive had Meganet which could let you download games or some shit. edit: in japan and brazil
Unless Brazil has some pretty fucked up regional exclusives I don't think it counts.

Just in regard to Internet usage generally, in terms of trivia, I think the first to allow Internet usage at all was the GameCom (I think it supported email and stuff), though Atari 2600 had some kind of Internet-ish...thing. I don't remember the details.

Many consoles had some type of weird Internet-like capability, like SNES' Satellaview. Usually it was just for online play until Dreamcast. Saturn had some online features, but only in Japan.

Maybe old ass cops, but ever since Dreamcast you can browse the web on gaming consoles (idk if you could download using it though, but I know you could store images on PSP at least).
You would be surprised. The vast majority still thinks of consoles as purely for games. A more tech savvy cop would think to check but an older boss might dismiss it.

You guys bringing up PSP/Vita/PS4/PS5 porn, yet none of you didn't even mention this

BioWare with Dragon Age 2? I mean, arguably, both companies follow the same trajectory of decline, though I think NG is speedrunning the mutation just like CDPR.
People seemed to still like Mass Effect 3 and even Inquisition, which came after, despite complaints about certain elements. Naughty Dog jumped straight into the fucking gutter after TLOU, basically. Then again, people still try to defend Uncharted 4 for...some reason.

Good News Everyone.
The new Naughty Dog IP trailer has dropped.
Yes, it's shit.
Maybe sounds like hyperbole but I think this is the game that will determine whether Sony allows their first party devs to keep making woke slop or not. They've been "getting away with it" for years but it's always been in already established brands, and for shit like Concord you can always just blame the fact it was a $40 live service game in a saturated genre (that is cope of course.) This will be the first new IP single player tentpole game that is fully infected. They already know this hence the fact comments are disabled on the video.

Cause make no mistake this is no doubt a super expensive game that will need to sell millions of copies to be successful. If it does not do that I expect Sony to start freaking out in a way they did not with Concord since that was just random shit they bought mid-development, as opposed to something from one of their oldest studios (who also have no other source of income because they make 1 game every 4 or 5 years at this point.) I doubt the financial damage will be as large in comparison but the message will be pretty clear.

Wow, a stunning and brave whamen with a gritty and strong whamen are bounty hunting! And they're probably lebanesse! But is it with each other?! Such mysteries to untangle!
I'm glad to see they made Trans Caillou and gave it a lightsaber
What a loveable design. Make an ugly woman that reminds everyone of a hated cartoon character.

The character design is absolute aids, but I'll give it this, at least she has a normal chin.

We don't even have a release date and Sony loves to announce games years in advance. This can't be the litmus test if it comes out in 2027 after Sony has flopped like a dying fish is all I'm saying. Now if it happens to be a 2025 thing I would agree with you, but I highly doubt Cuckman would put "his vision" at risk by having strict deadlines.

Also, any of you champs that has the up doot and down doot plugin installed wanna check out how the trailer is received? Seeing how they are a bunch of faggots and don't allow comments, it's the best way to get an idea.

Why the fuck is the main character using a CD player? With everything going digital now, the main character wouldn't even have any nostalgia for CDs.

I know cuckman put it in to draw in the 90s kids. But there's no in game reason for it.

Another non buy nary game for me.
It's quirky! Like Guardians of the Galaxy! People liked that!

Also, Sony chucked a lot of bills this year to Geoff, "A SONY GAME MUST WIN, EVEN IF IT'S A TEPID ITERATION OF A MARIO GAME FROM A GENRE WE ALL WANTED TO ACT WAS DEAD AND BURIED!". What a wretched fucking year.

If it sells well it's gonna be damning. I hope it leaks early, I hope hackers take down PSN on launch day, I hope it ships with game breaking bugs. May God smite this abomination, inshallah.

The only good thing from this trailer is the robot, the sword looks kinda cool, and the anime in the background looked more interesting than the actual trailer, but dear god I hope this game fails

>Developed by Neil Druckmann (This alone is the biggest red flag)
>Generic Science Fiction Slop
>Obnoxious Product Placement (Wow PORSCHE Spaceship, SONY CD player, and le heckin' epic ADIDAS which everyone loved from Spider-Man 2)
>Terrible Main Character (I need to break this down in two posts)

- Boring Character Design: I don't mind woman not following traditional beauty standards, and a bald character can be fine. Yet her design is just really bland and boring, there's nothing that really pops, the sword is the only good thing but a weapon shouldn't be the most interesting attribute about a character. The "realistic" graphics really don't help matters either.

- MCU Personality: From what little is gleamed of the trailer, the character just acts like the typical unlikeable MCU-type snarky character who is just unlikeable, and thinks they're more witty than they really are, it's a pretty grating personality archetype that is so fucking overused these days.

Considering the likely budget ($250 million minimum, probably much more than that) and how badly TLOU2 has ruined Naughty Dog's perception among normies, it's going to be a herculean struggle on their part to sell this to a large enough audience to make the money back, especially with how they are marketing the game.

Spider-Man 2, an already established IP, featuring one of the most popular characters in fiction, and the sequel to a well-regarded game, barely broke even for Sony, and this despite them not promoting how woke the game was via marketing.
