Sony hate thread

I kinda feel the Vita is old enough for people to start worrying about the reliability of the hardware, especially on second hand units. It launched in 2012 and was discontinued in 2019 so the units available in the wild are 5 years old in the best case scenario and 12 years old at worst and that doesn't take into account the wear and tear of the remaining units.

Once this old hardware gives up the ghost emulation will be the only way to play the Vita's game library. (And in Sony's infinite wisdom they have not made the Vita's library playable on any other PlayStation console)

Last I checked Vita3K is compatible with nearly 60% of all the games and progress on the emulator is ongoing.
I dont have any worries about the hardware failing any time soon. But then I personally just buy two of anything I value just in case, which is how I have two Vitas and a PSTV.

Now the 3DS I have some concerns about, of the 10 I own two are giving me odd crashes that point to probable NAND failure.

But yeah I would take a modded Vita over owning a PS5 any day and I really only use mine for Vita games not PSP, PS1, or homebrew emulators.

The physical buttons aren't exactly sturdy either.

Had the R trigger completely give out on the original model, and the B button stop working on the new xl model.

I still have the PS VITA where the charger still works, but the USB cable is almost ripped to shreds, and I did not do that on purpose.

I also still have yet to buy Persona 4: Golden and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for it, and it’s hard to believe that both games are more than a decade old.

I have DS Lite and DSi models that are nearing 20 years now and none of them are giving me problems, so this sounds insane to me. If anything, the only part I ever had to replace were the hinges that connect the two screens, very annoying since the way the console is designed you usually have to get an entire new shell and they are getting harder to find.

I actually wanted to get into the PSP/Vita scene, thing is that I never really found an exclusive that made me bother getting a physical console(I have an emulator with a few games on it). DS simply had more unique games and the two screen/touch screen gimmick is just better when you use it with real hardware, instead of on an emulator. I do remember PSP having movies you could watch, which I guess was unique for the time(GBA tried that with individual cartoon episodes but it was awful), but now everyone has a smart phone and can just stream a movie from various websites that host them(or torrent one and upload it on your device). I was not a fan of the controls for PSP either, I know Vita gave you an actual analog stick but it was always unacceptable to me that a more "serious" console didn't have them. DS gets an excuse since it had the touch screens, which gave you an expectation of what kinds of games you would be getting.

I find it interesting that Sony tried to have home console and portable versions of some games, very ambitious for the time. Even more so since from what I've seen, they were faithful recreations and you could even carry over progress between consoles sometimes. UMVC3 in particular had even more features than the home consoles, like ability to see hitboxes and a new golden skin for every fighter similar to the Herald one(Skin H).

DS Lite has mainly membrane buttons, except for L/R which are known to fail over time. DSi has entirely SMD switches for buttons so they will fail eventually. They seem to have gotten better with newer parts at some points but not sure when.

For Vita I agree 100% it is not an exclusive powerhouse. Instead it is just a pleasant platform to play games on. Between indie ports, visual novels, enhanced PS3 games, PS4 cross releases there's a lot to like on Vita and hey it's all portable.

For PSP there are a bunch of really cool exclusives games or "best on PSP" experiences.

Most of the worthwhile games have been ported to other systems, there's not many true exclusives remaining. One of the last big exclusives is being ported soon, Freedom Wars. There's still some niche JRPGs, half of which are pervy like Criminal Girls, and some interesting looking Japanese exclusives, but not a lot else.

I'd like to see Killzone: Mercenary ported to Steam, Steam Deck would be perfect fit. Maybe Soul Sacrifice.

True, it's my go-to system even over Switch & Steam Deck. And it's funny that Vita still has more exclusives than PS5 :story:

PlayStation users must coom:

(And nobody is using their Xbox anymore)

It comes down to luck with some consoles. The triggers on my DSi failed after 5 years while my PSP 3k still works as it should be to this day, heck, even it's battery holds more charge than my Vita does.

It'd be funny if someone is still gooning via PSP lmao
Someone has to be that desperate to search for tits on a PSP. Unless you're still using an old internet router with wep and/or wpa (first gen) encryption enabled for some reason, a PSP will not detect any wireless networks using anything more than that.

Kadokawa’s employees are reportedly optimistic about a Sony buyout because they’re itching for a change in leadership

“The people around me are thrilled at the prospect of an acquisition by Sony. That’s because there’s a certain number of employees who are dissatisfied with the Natsuno administration, which didn’t even bother to hold a press conference after peoples’ personal information was leaked in the cyberattack. They expect that if Sony were to acquire the company, they would get rid of the president first,” a veteran employee of Kadokawa comments.
The Natsuno administration mentioned here refers to the leadership of Kadokawa’s current President and CEO Takeshi Natsuno, who was appointed in June 2021. Earlier this year, a group of hackers called BlackSuit launched a ransomware cyberattack on Kadokawa’s services, including NicoNico, one of Japan’s most accessed video streaming platforms. The hackers claimed to have stolen 1.5 terabytes of data, which Kadokawa confirmed included personal information of their users and employees.
It seems that Natsuno’s sluggish response during this crisis has caused significant dissatisfaction among Kadokawa’s employees, to the point of his potential dismissal fueling positive sentiment towards Sony’s acquisition.
Meanwhile, former chairman Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, who belongs to Kadokawa’s founding family, was “surprised, but appeared positive” about the acquisition, according to an insider interviewed by Bunshun.

I remember seeing a statistic/graph several years back that was shown during a heart-stopping CSAM presentation. It showed the devices most commonly used to view and store CP, and a tiny percentage belonged to PS4s.

Assuming those consoles were jailbroken, did they honestly believe it was safer than a computer or a cellphone? That always struck me as bizarre. Maybe they had illegal videos and images loaded onto every device they owned so that they'd never be far away from their fix.

Either way, some PlayStation owners are confirmed pedophiles who use the system for their pedophilic ways. It's not just cucked and blacked enthusiasts like we observe in subreddit overlaps.

For other: It says Vita and 3ds.

Whoever is using a 3ds is insane.
3D titties, they're doing it right!

I hope Sony is even worse to them, dumb fucks.

None were Nintendo systems? Soynydoes what Nintendon't. What no exclusives does to a motherfucker :story:

Makes sense. Most cops would not think to look at the console for CP. It is for games.
Maybe old ass cops, but ever since Dreamcast you can browse the web on gaming consoles (idk if you could download using it though, but I know you could store images on PSP at least).

I don't know if it counts as browsing but the Sega Megadrive had Meganet which could let you download games or some shit. edit: in japan and brazil
