This is why I have zero sympathy for Jesse no matter how deranged and foul his troon enemies may be. The site's political inversion from cringe left to cringe right didn't do much to change the quality of its content, but allowing absolute mongoloids to pay for blue checks has been a disaster because now every conversation is dominated by people stupid enough to give Elon money. As long as Bluesky doesn't allow anyone to buy popularity, it will remain marginally better.

Ehh, there's different types of checkmarks now - gold for org, grey for government. I think theoretically this is a better system. Old-school blue checks was like a cross between a popularity contest and a purity test.
