Bleedman lost a bunch of people after the Mandy did 9/11 comic and how he doubled down on it, and then people realized he was not only a pedophile (which would've gained more traction had he come during the era of Tumblr/Twitter being prominent), but also an unoriginal one-trick pony hack who couldn't even do his own original comic without fucking it up into incomprehension. And that he never migrated from DeviantArt to Tumblr was probably a factor in his fall into obscurity, too. Not to mention one of his associates (Griddles) ended up being arrested for actually having real life CP, IIRC.

Shmorky ought to hope that he'll fade into obscurity like Bleedman after all of this. I honestly don't know how someone like him can really recover from this, professionally, anyways. Short of pseudocide and coming back a year or so later under a new name and with a vaguely new art style, anyways.

Someone said it best earlier in this thread, but he probably abandoned it when he realized he could freely post his fetish shit under the Shmorky name, as Tumblr at the time was big into "uwu no kinkshaming". He probably also knew that being trans would offer him an extra degree of protection, as we've clearly seen here with some of the people defending him after the chat logs came to light.

Let's think about it this way: He likely started hanging out with the channerfurs in the first place to help protect himself from ridicule online, since usually that crowd would be glossed over as far as mocking furries is concerned. You could get away with publicly having gross disgusting fetishes in that circle as long as you're cool, have nice art, etc.

So once social justice became the hot new thing/form of protection in online social circles and it was no longer politically correct to ironically call people faggots for shits and giggles, he dropped the persona and fled. The fake alter ego was no longer needed.

That's my theory, at least.

I see a LOT of the Sandypants figure construction in this, and would jibe with Dave's attempt at an alternate style. Diaperfur content aside, there's overlap with Sandy's stated interests (Lisa Simpson, vigja gaemks, etc.). I'm just going with my gut feelings here.

I'm willing to bet Shmorky was catfishing his e-celeb friends as sandypants though, as I mentioned earlier in the thread. KC Green is/was friends with both personas as well.
