The game has amassed more than 10 million players since launch (Archive | Archive 2), time will tell if the game will survive the honeymoon phase, if balance decisions will affect it, and how fast coomer skins will come to the shop.

Played a few rounds. It's fine, definitely not as polished as overwatch on release (but isn't asking for 60 bucks from the outset either). Lots of characters to experiment with, Iron Man was fun though he also stinks to be sniper meat once people git gud. Punisher also feels great, my god have I missed the Punisher being allowed to use guns and go ham, bastard child of Soldier 76 and Bastion.

Unsure if it will keep my interest for much, but as something to blow some time for a round or 3 seems fine.

wish i could play especially as a major hero shooter fan but for some reason my game keeps on crashing whenever I launch the actual game.

I don't see it surviving. Overwatch fell off because it's core design is frustrating and anti-fun, but these developers aren't figuring that out. All they see are the profit projections Blizzard had (and are in no way based in reality) and think this fundamentally wrong formula just has to be executed right.
That, ontop of the fact that everyone is tired of the genre, and those who are not have stuck with the big names.

Counterpoint, Overwatch fell off because the market that was gonna waste 60 bucks on a game fell off. I don't see the chinks pushing retarded lore, the lore for these heroes is already retarded, so you aren't gonna be pissing off the culture war crowd much if at all. The coomers are gonna be spending cash and sperm on this, and the terminal gamers will oscillate between this and Deadlock because, fuck it, free.

Care to elaborate? whats the issue with hero shooters?
i dont really like hero shooters but overwatch was massive for its time and really only fell off because they never innovated

Then Nintendo files patents for the genre and sues Valve over TF2?

And then Sony announces a revival for Concord, by having Kamala Harris (which "should" have been President #47 if it weren't for those "MAGA CHUDS", and a guy that missed the easiest shot of his life) say in a video, "IT'S CONCORDIN' TIME!"

I'm hesitant to try Marvel Rivals because A) I don't care for superheroes, B) I'm burned out of hero shooters because of OW2 and C) the recent track records of live services doesn't get me confidence that this would last.

Are their people that are also either hesitant or refuse to play the game, because of NetEase developing it? Is boycotting games that are Chinese-made or involved still a thing?

Not that I'm aware of. I wanted to say achievements as well.
