Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

So does anyone else happen to remember the first Unown you ran into that became the face of the PokéDex entry? Mine was I.

Honestly, I associate Unknown more with Aegis Cave than any mainline game.
Aegis Cave is pretty dope, so that's fair.

Finally managed to earn enough coin in Revelation Emerald to buy the last Prize Pokemon. I have moved on to the actual fun part of the post game: Catching Legendaries. I already got Groundon/Kyogre, Deoxys, Ho-Oh and Lugia. Next up is catching the three Legendary Dogs, ala Fire Red and Leaf Green(except there you only get one based off your starter choice). Catching roaming legendary, especially the dogs is a pain in the ass as they are fast AND use Roar, which I believe this gen means you will never get them again if they use it on you due to an engine quirk.
I don't have any Pokemon that can be used to effectively trap, outspeed and then put the enemy to sleep so I will have to transfer a Gengar from Trigger's PC and EV train it for Speed before I even attempt to catch the dogs. Thankfully, I have Pokerus active in my team, which should speed up the process, and I might encounter the roaming Latios as well by accident. Would save me some time.
Fun thing of note: Mirage Island is always active in this ROMhack once you catch/beat Groundon and Kyogre. Not just that but you have plenty of new Pokemon that you can catch as well on there on top of Wyanut, such as Misdreavus or Ponyta.

>announcing a claymation collab that won't be out until halfway through the next generation before announcing a single shred of Z-A news

I'm still hyped because Aardman absolutely rocks and Concierge was quite nice (even with its awful human designs), but WHY?
By the time this thing is ready for its first trailer, it's going to probably be overshadowed by main-game DLC or other announcements. As it is now, it's so far away that you can only barely generate excitement by announcing the damn brand names involved.

This would almost reek of desperation to announce anything had it been regarding any other franchise. Does someone here with more knowledge on marketing have a reason as to why it was announced so incredibly early?

Stuff is usually announced when it is first confirmed to be happening and then announcements get more frequent closer to release date.

More often than not things are announced well before they even release, it is in fact rare that things are announced only a short while before coming out.

Aardman goes 'ard.

It may not end up being animated in claymation. It probably will be since the announcement was done in claymation, but Aardman do produce illustrated and computer-generated animation for smaller projects.

Looking around, I guess Aardman are pretty popular over there? They have a Japanese speaking Shaun the Sheep YouTube channel with videos reaching 44 million views, are there even 44 million Japanese children lol?

It might surprise you, but even now there is new discoveries being made from the Terraleak. Sure, no new content is being dropped, but oh my is there a lot to sift thru.

ORAS would originally let you fly around on Mega Rayquaza, similarly how you can soar using Mega Latios/Latias in the final game. This would include being able to fly above the ozone, into space.

Cut Looker event that would take place in New Mauville in the postgame, it looks like
terraleak oras looker.png
You ever wonder why you can't go into the big tunnel there? Well, here you go, looks like you originally could.

List of cut features from ORAS
Terraleak Cut ORAS Content.png
Features include:
*Pretty much everything that was in XY but didn't make it to ORAS
*Battle Frontier cut because "We have Trainer's Eye"(and Battle Chateau)
*Prototypes for Poke Pelago and QR code functionality, both of which would come in Sun/Mon
*Much more ambitious about showing off the world in full 3D, such as making a fully rendered cutscene at the start when the Devon employee gets mugged by Team Aqua/Magma for example. Holocaster would have played a role in the game as well, just like it does in XY
*Safari Zone working just like it did in RSE, Friend Safari extension in the post game

There is a torrent link with everything that has been dropped so far, haven't had time to check but it's on /vp/ right now. In case you're wondering, the torrent links for whatever is on the Rentry page STILL work as well, so if you still didn't download everything, now is the time.

Are there any ROM hacks for Pokemon Crystal that ONLY uncensor the sprites for the trainers and my nigga Jynx?
It really wouldn’t be that hard to do; just download the disassembly and replace the sprites (the Jynx sprite sheet may need recolored manually). It’s something I did as part of my own personal hack. All-in-all you could have it going in, like, 45 minutes.

Well, I finally found something I don't like in Revelation Emerald: Everything in the romhack so far is objectively better than the base Emerald, but I just came across an undocumented bug, which leads me to believe it is exclusive to this romhack. I'm still going for roaming Pokemon, I was able to catch Entei and Latios without too much trouble. Raikou was a different story, it's the same level as Entei and Suicune, level 50, and yet I was unable to encounter it at all with my level 49 Gengar. I wasted dozens of Super Repels trying to find this thing, it didn't work. For all intends and purposes, it was supposed to appear exclusively in encounter zones while using a level 49 Pokemon and repels, without other Pokemon interrupting me, but alas it didn't. I WAS able to encounter it without Repels, after I fought enough wild Pokemon in the area I would eventually find Raikou. Thankfully, it doesn't move every encounter and I can keep looking for it as long as I don't leave the area, otherwise things would have gotten interesting.
Oh, and the best part? These roaming Dogs are useless, they still suffer from the low IV bug found in Firered and Leafgreen, to make them "semi legal" for transfering purposes(won't work since they're caught in the wrong game and in areas that don't appear in FR/LG. Since most assets from FRLG are found in Emerald, the dev likely copy/pasted the encounter without editing it and called it a day.). This means that not only am I going thru hell trying to catch this Raikou, there is zero reason to use it with all IVs but HP being reduced to lowly 0-1(Attack might go up to 7, but who uses a physical Raikou?).
Hopefully, Suicune won't suffer from this bug either. At the very least, that one doesn't have Roar if I remember correctly, so the consolation is that I will likely catch it within the first encounter.

Edit: Here is an interesting tidbit I just found. While looking thru Trigger's PC to confirm that my Entei has low IVs(it does), I noticed that the game it is caught in is FireRed. Most other Pokemon on this savefile came from Emerald, naturally, but some random Gen 1/2 Pokemon are found in Fire Red/Leaf Green instead of Emerald, according to the files. This WOULD be swell as far as transferring these to the bank...but the routes still don't match up. My Entei was found in Route 122, for example, while Larvitar is found in Meteor Falls. Obviously, neither location exists in FRLG. Maybe a few certain Pokemon CAN be banked this way since they appear in "Safari Zone", I dunno if Bank knows how to differentiate between Hoenn and Kanto Safari Zone so maybe the Nidorans and the like can go thru.
Ironically enough, with Latios being the easiest Roamer to catch, it is also the strongest since it is not effected by the low IV bug. Not only is it's IV spread normal, I got a perfect 31 in Speed and very good Special Attack/Health to go along with it, making it a very powerful competitive Pokemon to use in the future. The dogs? Unfortunately, not so much. I recommend playing Colosseum and transferring them to your Gen 3 GBA title if you really want a legit one with good stats.

How do I edit the shiny.pal file for Jynx?

Open file in notepad, replace with the following:
RGB 24, 20, 21 RGB 31, 09, 27
Compiling throws this error.
error: gfx/pics.asm(286): Section 'Pics 10' grew too big (max size = 0x4000 bytes, reached 0x4024). error: gfx/pics.asm(645): Section 'Pics 17' grew too big (max size = 0x4000 bytes, reached 0x4006). error: Assembly aborted (2 errors)! make: *** [Makefile:143: gfx/pics11.o] Error 1
I got the trainer sprites and Jynx back sprite from tcrf and used GIMP to edit the front sprites. It compiles fine without the new sprites.
