I really would like to see Doug do more of these videos where he just revisits previous stuff he's reviewed. I hope he takes more advantage of that for "Disneycember"

This is going straight to the spank bank.So...26 pages of screenshots anytime she shows anything resembling skin...
No Stephen King Time this Nostalgiaween.
Considering no one had been using the term "media literacy" until earlier this year I would say no. Cinemasins and Tvtropes have surely had a more negative impact on that sort of thing anyways.
Ant of all people trying to lecture about “media literacy”…
Channel Awesome was a coalition of internet critics in the early days of YouTube. With Doug Walker standing at the front, they dominated the internet movie analysis landscape. While many of these critics either evolved, like Lindsay Ellis and Linkara
My favorite bit is the first one where he says Lewis is a reviewer first and comedian second. Not watching that video since these comments alone give me red flags

Honestly I'd give a pass to Lindsay Ellis since she did set herself apart from Doug and actually made her own following, granted she has her own failures, but she still is more popular than she was the Nostalgia Chick.
But fucking Linkara as an improved talented critic?! The guy whose content is just him reading a comic book but making snarky comments here and there, and preaching on a non-existent soapbox. The most innovative content he has done is making a crappy ARG about evil snowmen. Linkara also has not changed his content since Lindsay and Doug at least both changed their content and grew up, Linkara didn't change at all beyond trying to be more "woke".
Anyway I guess a broken clock can be right since there was this too

It's true that Channel Awesome reviewers got popular not because they had an actual talent at analyzing media or articulating themselves, and more because they were the first. Doug was able to sell the Nostalgia Critic as "AVGN but with movies," and Linkara was able to sell himself as "angry reviewer but with comic books." If Linkara came out today, he wouldn't have an audience since Internet criticism has gotten much better. Personally, once I discovered RedLetterMedia and Mr. Plinkett, I never looked back from Doug, aside from, ocassional and ironic, nostalgia.
Anyone who uses the term 'media literacy' unironically is a pretentious faggot with their head up their ass. Doug wins over these grifters just by virtue of not taking himself so seriously and having some humility.
You're supposed to outgrow talking like this when you graduate from college at the latest.
I just avoid any of the shows that have skits that go on too long.I just enjoy watching Doug’s stuff. I don’t think of him as some esteemed critic who’s word is law or anything,
