OTOH, if Bluesky dumps Singal in favor of its loony troon contingent -- especially after the way the troons have behaved -- that's going to discourage many other leftie journalists from signing up. And the audiences you get from a Jojo From Jerz or a Jeff Tiedrich are far more desirable than the genderspecials, furries, ABDLs, DID "plurals," Cluster Btards, and Tumblr refugees who are screaming for Singal's head. So from an investor's standpoint ignoring the trannies makes more sense than humoring them.

Right now there's a literal "blue sky" opportunity for any platform, BlueSky or others, to reset the damage from the first YouTube Adpocalypse nearly a decade ago. All they have to do is return to the pre-crazy times where advertisers weren't directly associated with the content they were showing up next to. Give them plausible deniability through an algorithm, train your ad partners to ignore the dozen crazy troons who will screech at their social media account, and you're golden.

The crazy troons were the earliest adopters of Bluesky, but they aren't exactly a great selling point if you want to expand your audience of normal lefties who have the money to pay for subscriptions. And the crazier they act toward Singal, the more likely we are to see a loony troons purge that might well take Consent Accident Jones down with the rest of the freaks.

I would not be surprised if BlueSky asked Singal to sign up. They’re obviously going for a left-of-center userbase, but these unhinged troons are bad for the platform. This could be Jesse’s “Rumble contract” moment. Just stay away from the cocaine, Jesse.

FWIW I think he is mostly correct here. People will ascribe all kinds of political motivations to reddit but I think the most correct viewpoint is that Steve Huffman is literally a retarded greedy psychopath. Everything he has done on reddit has been in the search for more money. He pitched reddit as the "front page of the internet" because he thought it would get him more money from investors. He kept up r/jailbait because he thought it would make him more money; same with r/The_Donald, r/NoNewNormal, etc. until they became inconvenient and detrimental to his goal of making money. He has no moral compass and only outwardly appears to exhibit shame when it suits him.

And despite all of that, he can't make his company profitable because he's too stupid to realize that paying 2,000 people Bay Area salaries means he's going to be in the hole forever. reddit inc's assets are in the negative billions.
