Purely as a thought experiment...

- Buy a burner phone with cash (better yet get someone else to buy it for you with cash), do not ever have it active near your other devices, keep it Faraday bagged and turned off until it's needed. Even without SIM card installed all phone IMEIs are visible to cell towers (like you said, for emergency call use), and they are unique device identifiers.
- If burner phones are not a thing in your country, buy a used phone from someone off buy-sell classifieds a few towns over, contact them with a fake email address, do not have your other devices with you when you buy the phone, Faraday bag it immediately. Ideally do not use the phone immediately, the longer you have it in reserve in your Faraday bag and inactive the better.

There's a very cheap, easy solution to these problems: stop doing whatever repetitive motion that's causing it. Immobilize and pad the area, day and night. There are nighttime carpal tunnel sleeves that are very comfortable for sleeping. There are gel elbow pads and knee pillows if that's where the problem is. After a VERY long time of being very diligent, the area will heal.

I was developing the early stages of it because I spent most of the day at a keyboard but for actual work that required very high speed (generally over 100 wpm for hours at a time). I was using a standard keyboard and the wear and tear was pretty extreme (I would go through about 4 keyboards in a year). Partly this was just I hammered the fuck out of the keyboard.

So I took a brief break and switched to a really pricey ergonomic keyboard, and relearned typing in a less aggressive way. The pain and numbness immediately stopped getting worse, and over about a year mostly went away, even though I substantially increased my speed both by just typing in a less destructive way and not being deterred by pain.

I agree on never having seen a really good outcome with the carpal tunnel shit and didn't even consider it. It might be necessary for severely intractable cases where being a complete cripple is the only other option, but it's better just not to fuck yourself up that way. Change jobs if you have to. No job is worth crippling yourself.

But almost all repetitive things you do can be done in a different less harmful way.

About the only major thing I can think of where you really can't is some high performance sports, and if you fuck yourself up doing that, you have access to doctors who make what you get in "civilian" life look like clowns.
