For the past couple weeks I've been doing research into the anime tracking website, AniList, one of the many competitors to MyAnimeList.
The site itself for the purpose it serves, is fine. In fact I feel like it's better than MAL in a lot of ways when it comes to rating and cataloging. But while the site itself is fine, what I wanna talk about here is the community and the team behind it.
Through my research, it seems many of the people in the team are lolicons.

Taluun (powerword: Benjamin Grant) is the lead anime data mod for AniList, and has been since 2017 and is arguably the most vocal mod on the team, as well as the most controversial. Taluun is infamous due to him having a superiority complex, being very open about his leftist beliefs, and complaining about trolls. He also threatens to ban people who show support for Trump. He also has an obsession with the anime "Sound! Euphonium", specifically with the character Ririka Kenzaki who is a high schooler in the series and is canonically 15-16. (A)(A)

With a vague rule like that, AniList essentially allows porn as long as it ain't explicit and if the characters in them don't look underage, you just have to spoiler it (which it was). Not to sound like a schizo, but I believe Taluun took advantage of this rule's vagueness. Knowing that he couldn't share porn of Gushing Over Magical Girls since the characters undoubtedly look like minors, he thought the next best thing would be to have it be his favorite character and another character who, depending on who you ask, don't look underage (this isn't me defending this in any way, just trying to explain what these people's logical conclusions may be) be in it and wear the outfits that the characters from Gushing wear. This site allows minors (and there's no age vetting), and Taluun still thought it was a good idea to post this.
Also, all that makes this one rule really funny.

ANN's listing function is the best anime cataloguing site because they have not just anime but all manner of weeb-adjacent Western animation, comics, and tokusatsu. Real gigachads use AniDB and Mangaupdates because they have translation trackers. But glad to see AniList is run by degens; I've always had bad vibes from that site -- it's tailor-made for terminally online faggots (your anime listing site does NOT need to be Twitter), and it's EXTREMELY obnoxious in its moe branding -- moreso than most anime listing sites.
