This is the psychological endpoint of endless enabling. When you constantly give someone who's entitled what they want and give in to themand never compromise or stand up for yourself, no matter how insane they get, they don't slow down, they don't stop. They keep demanding more and more and more. When someone is enabled, they never get better, they always get worse. This has happened with the trans community on a cultural scale for the past decade. Slowly they've been more and more and more enabled, and it's made them feel bolder and bolder to take more extreme measures to demand more extreme things from people, they think will never say no.

another thing that often gets overlooked, one of the reasons I'm so vehemently arguing against it is - where does it stop? there's a reason we as a society only punish crimes or their attempts, not thinking about crimes. if you make the exception "for the sake of children", where do you wanna draw the line? make a rape joke gets treated as actual rape? death threats give you 25 to life? and it won't stop there.... follow the wrong political candidate? well that candidate is a threat to democracy, so are you, best come after you for treason and possible terrorism "for the sake of society".
