I'm a few days behind the thread , so I'm still talking about last week's news while you all gossip about the new hotness.
Had to go to Service Canada recently. I can't get over how shitty the front-facing part of the bureaucracy is.
Full of niggers. The wageslaves were crawling under their cubicles between clients to try to jimmy their divider walls level.
They brought me to process my application in another room sitting directly parallel to another guy telling a sob story about damaging his passport. With no privacy considerations or dividers at all.
They also stuck me in an overflow waiting room that was so austere it looked like an empty office from a Hollywood movie where a scam company leaves in the middle of the night.
Trudeau's public service largesse certainly isn't going to the frontline.
I feel this poor guy's death isn’t the best textbook to champion as shitty Canadian healthcare.
Don't get me wrong, the system is shit.
But ruptured aortic aneurysms are notoriously hard to diagnose on presentation. And the guy was obviously stable enough to walk out under his own power.
It really needs a CT angiogram of the thorax to diagnose properly. But the problem is that it's a resource-intensive scan, so you need a high index of suspicion.
There will always be edge cases and things missed. You can't scan everyone and that's assuming he was even at an ER with a CT. The CT also has a radiation dose, so the more scans you do, the more young people you potentially give cancer down the road.
The surgery itself to fix it is also risky. No guarantee he would've survived.
The first thing the City of Ottawa did after clearing out the convoy protest, that was so egregiously blocking traffic in front of Parliament, was to erect concrete barriers to close Wellington St to vehicular traffic forever.
It's sad seeing the Finnish social clubs, charities and restaurants just close shop and fade away.
The famous Hoito Finn pancake joint in T-Bay burned down (along with the historic Finnish Labour Temple) burned down and was abandoned.
A neighbour who works for FedEx complained before the postal strike about how much OT she was having to work due to the six figure payouts from the last Treaty settlement resulting in a never-ending stream of Amazon packages to reserves.
