Pot roast with homemade rosemary bread and a Guinness
I like making a Guinness reduction with equal quantities of Guinness and dark brown sugar reduced to taste. Maybe throw in something like mustard powder or herbs, but I often don't, since I put them in the pot roast or corned beef or whatever already.

You don't need much because it's pretty potent in flavor. I like drizzling it over the dish at the end.

If you put this in the fridge it will turn nearly solid but if you heat it up it'll go back to liquid.

That rosemary bread must have been divine. I love herb baked breads.

A raw chestnut mushroom. Turns out they make great snacks.
Yes, their texture is quite unique. Like a carrot but with much less moisture and slightly sweet. I would be on the chestnut cleaning duty every holiday and I would snack on the ones that didn't come out whole or werent perfect while I worked.

Pickles straight out of the jar while making a sandwich from leftover roast beef for work tomorrow. Grated garlic with a microplane onto toast with basil pesto. Layered with cheddar, capocollo, roast beef, pickles, jalapenos and finally potato crisps pressed into a sandwich wrapped in tinfoil.

I cooked up the second batch of Moroccan lamb meatballs I made a few days ago, since they'd otherwise have gone bad, and put part of them on a pita with shredded lettuce, minced red onions, tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and mint-yogurt sauce. The second batch was actually much better.

I still have leftovers. Maybe another pita or two worth.

I'm definitely doing that again at some point.

Went over to my mom's house for the cookie swap mentioned in the "What Have You Cooked Recently" thread. She made three kinds of wings (Honey Lemon Pepper, Japanese BBQ, and regular hot wings).

Getting back on the fast, having wild rice and green pepper for breakfast.

Sister wanted to do something nice and bought this for me to take to work tonight. They’re…really pretty bad, but I appreciated the gesture and ate it anyway.

Went to one of the best Italian places in my life. Been a few times before but took wife as a treat. They make a fucking Pecorino martini. It is FUCKING PERFECT. Your red sauce with meat is short rib pork. If olive garden is a toyota, this is a fucking space shuttle. All the meals are simple but each detail is perfect.

wife had cacoa pepe. I stole a bite. Pure induglence.

Wasn't cheap but, price was fair for quality. Scary fact we could do this more than an anny dinner.
