The thing is that I agree that Trap was "mid af" and just not a great movie overall. I think the reactions are far more fueled by Adam's compulsion to get in jabs and sperg out about a films audience excessively and when coupled with his nasally and snarky tone, it just renders him totally unlikeable to the vast majority of people. This exact same shit happened with the Mario Movie a while ago with his weird "stupid babies" comment. Also, if it weren't for Sardonicast I would've thought IHE fell off the face of the planet and quit Youtube all together. As far as I can tell him being on the podcast, echoing Adam's takes is the main content he's a part of nowadays.

No fucking joke. He started Sardonicast and JAR and that's literally all he's done since, give or take a video about Destiny (the game). He's just as hard to listen to now because, just like Adam, it sounds like he genuinely loathes anything he doesn't deem "intellectual art" like Pink Floyd.

I agree, but I don't remember Mario fans getting that riled up about YMS being soy and bitchy about that movie. Or Detective Pikachu, or any of the other movies with loyal followings that he's shit on.

That has to be top contender, if not #1, for the most over-reaction of a movie I've ever seen in him.

What actual good points he had was ruined by his gigantic tantrum. Like you'd think after Space Jam and Chip 'n Dale he'd realize it's not even worth reviewing "animated" films because they're all shit... basically the lowest hanging fruit, and that he should set his sights for something that's actually worth critical thinking.

To be fair, there's nothing wrong with giving a movie a good hate-fucking, but there's a gigantic difference between "this shit doesn't work because A, B, C bullet point, etc..." and "RAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRRR YOU PEOPLE FUCKING SUCK!!!"

I watched it all and it just felt like sardonicast. I really don’t think there was much added here that warranted taking it out of the podcast.
 
I tried to rewatch Alex's old content for old time's sake and realized most of it is really fucking boring, so maybe he is semi-retired because he knows that too. Quinton at a con said that IHE was an inspiration because anyone could do what he did and I realized he is actually right.

It is a bit odd the level of vitriol he's received, but as has already been mentioned YMS is a really snarky, catty motherfucker which might rub people the wrong way. That and there's all the times he's gone to bat for horse fucking in the past, which probably hasn't been great for his public perception.

I think there's a lot of burning resentment towards him and this was a tipping point for a lot of people to finally say something.

So when should we expect the response video (or stream) to all the criticism he's been getting online?

I think this is the most hate he's ever gotten, and Adam is the kind of dude that looses his shit when some rando on Reddit decides to poke him and his work. He totally would milk this for sympathy points.
