I've stopped attempting to make any kind of sense of his Patreon and decided that the "earnings" is whatever minimum Alex wants it to be. Once is interesting, twice could be a coincidence but that's been happening for years at this point.
I wish there was an info graphic of the interest towards YS. Not just "oh, there are dozens of videos" but the actual numbers. How many, how many views they get, how many searches it gets, how many visits the blog, the website and the update pages get, etc. Because something tells me that people are more interested in the related drama than the game itself.

I'm actually not sure that's the case. While it's not quite the data you're interested in, I believe that Google search data might shed some light onto this.
So, after some digging around I've found out that the strongest indicator of interest in drama seems to be "yandere dev", far outnumbering the contending "yandere simulator drama" and "yandere dev drama", but generally peaking at the same time they do. The periods of increased interest seem to be around the dang dirty emails saga, Hate and Shame and (moreso) the subsequent Discord ban speedruns, and the Jelly affair.
Nonetheless, interest in "yandere dev" pales in comparison to "yandere simulator" which also tends to be affected by drama, but is generally pretty stable. While the speedruns apparently spiked interest in the game, the pedo thing seems to have caused a hit to its popularity.

It might however be, that the searches for "yandere simulator" are for drama-related content, so let's take a look at downloads. I think there is no better indication for the interest in the game itself than people looking for a way to download it.
Still, aside from actual periods of drama, people seem to be more interested in playing the game than in looking up Alex's shenanigans.

The US shows comparatively more interest in Alex himself, so it might be that Yansim's popularity is mostly driven by non-english speaking parts of the world, while americans care moreso about the drama.

Like I said, the better indicators would be the website views and the blogpost views. But it warms my heart that the game’s popularity is around a quarter of what it was years ago.

December 15 update (archive)
Hello! Got a pretty big update for you today! Lots of additions to Custom Mode, and also the addition of a feature that people have been begging me to add to the game for years.

To read a list of everything that was added / changed / fixed / improved in the latest update, please scroll down past this absolutely gorgeous illustration by 蛋蛋在水上漂!

Actually, this artwork is part of a music video that you can find on the Chinese video-sharing site BiliBili. Click here to see the video: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1wfyYYUEkv/ It’s a Yandere Simulator version of a pre-existing video, and I think it’s absolutely phenomenal!

Kidnapping Male Students

Throughout Yandere Simulator’s development, I’ve been asked countless times if it would ever be possible for the protagonist to kidnap male students. For years, I have consistently given the same reply: “No!! I don’t see any reason to do that!! It wouldn’t serve any gameplay purpose!! It would be pointless! I’m never going to add it to the game!!”

Well…

In Custom Mode, it is possible to assign “canon eliminations” to your rivals. But, what if you design a male rival, and then designate “kidnapping” as his canon elimination? Suddenly, it becomes impossible to perform a canon playthrough…

So…

Yeah…I did it. I said “I’m never going to add that feature to the game!!” for years, and then I went ahead and did it anyway. It is now possible to kidnap male students.

(Hmm…for some reason, this blog post is giving me deja vu…I wonder how many other “I’m never going to add that feature to the game, stop asking me!!!” features will eventually get added to the game…)

Please be aware that, if you kidnap a male, he will spawn in your basement wearing his school uniform, regardless of whatever clothing he was wearing at the point in time when he was kidnapped. This is because I don’t have a “burlap sack” model for male students to wear at this point in time.

Also, if you kidnap a male student, you will hear female voice lines when he is being tranquilized, when he is being tortured, and when he is performing a murder-suicide. I don’t have male equivalents of those lines at this point in time.

One last note – if you examine a male student who is tied to a chair, you will notice that the ropes sometimes clip through his body. I don’t have male equivalents of the rope models at this point in time.

Custom Mode

I’ve begun going down the checklist of all the additions/changes/improvements that I want to make to Custom Mode! Here’s the progress that I’ve made so far:

It is now possible for the player to give the game original textures to use for students’ uniforms in Custom Mode. You are no longer limited to the game’s 6 school uniforms!

It is now possible to provide the game with up to 10 “Custom Stocking Textures” and assign these textures to your protagonist and/or female students!

It is now possible to customize the skin colors of female students!

It is now possible to choose the pose that a student performs in their student portrait!

It is now possible to customize the texture of your rivals’ bookbags!

Also…

  • Now that it’s possible to kidnap male students, “Kidnap” and “Murder-Suicide” are now valid canon elimination methods for male rivals!
  • It is now possible to edit the names and profiles of the Guidance Counselor, Headmaster, and Journalist!
  • It is now possible to customize the text that appears inside of all rival’s diary entries!
  • It is now possible to assign eye types to male students!
To customize textures or text, just replace the images or text files found in the StreamingAssets\CustomMode directory.

By the way…I’ll be the first to admit that the current male eye types don’t look very good. I hope to expand the list of male eye types in the future with better-looking expressions, but I’ll need help from people who know how to anime/pose Yandere Sim characters and provide .FBX or .anim files.

If the player decides to not write custom diary entries for their Custom Mode rivals, then the diary will automatically populate with the rival’s likes/dislikes, and will color-code their likes as green and their dislikes as red.

Blood Censor Update

In this build, the “Censor Blood” feature got a lot of improvements.

  • Previously, if the player activated the “Censor Blood” feature and then stabbed a student, part of the blood effect would be replaced with flowers, but other parts would remain red and bloody. The “Censor Blood” feature will now completely hide all parts of the “stab blood effect” with flowers.
  • Previously, if the player activated the “Censor Blood” feature and then splashed a bucket of blood onto a student, they would appear bloody. This has been corrected; they now appear to be covered in flowers, instead.
  • If the player used the syringe as a murder weapon, blood would appear on it even if the Censor Blood option was active. This bug has been fixed.
  • Previously, when dismembering a student after activating the “Censor Blood” feature, blood would appear as black squares instead of as flowers. The blood has been updated to appear as flowers.
  • Previously, the “Censor Blood” feature didn’t apply to the iron maiden in the Foreign Studies room. Now it does.
  • Previously, the “Censor Blood” feature didn’t apply to the woodchipper in the Gardening Club. Now it does.
  • Previously, the “Censor Blood” feature did not affect the appearance of blood in a bucket. Now it does.

Improvements

  • When socializing with a student, the player is supposed to get bonus social points when they use the same Persona or “animation set” as the student that they’re talking to. Sonoko uses the animations from the “Strict” animation set. So, using the “Strict” Persona will now give you bonus social points when interacting with Sonoko.
  • In the “Alternate Timeline,” it was a little too harsh to have your entire save file deleted for messing up, so the player will now be “sent back in time to last Sunday” instead of having their entire “timeline” erased.
  • Updated the text for Ryoba’s “Expel” Idea, since Himeko’s rings are no longer the only way to frame a rival for theft.
  • Several 1980s Mode students who lacked unique portrait poses are now using unique poses in their portraits.
  • Updated a few of the graphics that accompany the tutorials accessed from the Pause Menu.

Fixes

  • In 202X, if the player shows a bully’s decapitated head to a delinquent, they react positively and then leave school. This makes sense for the 202X delinquents because of their backstories. However, 1980s Mode male delinquents were also showing the same reaction to the decapitated heads of female delinquents, which was not intended. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player befriended a student and then kidnapped that student, the player’s friend count would go up to 1 and then down to 0. But if the player turned that kidnapped student into a mind-broken slave and then ordered them to commit a murder-suicide, the player’s friend count would go down to -1. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player entered a struggle with a teacher while the police countdown was displaying, and the player was required to take a weapon out of their inventory in order to struggle with the teacher, the police countdown timer would permanently stop counting down. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, if a teacher with the “Dangerous” Persona witnessed the player fighting with a delinquent, she would run up to the two characters as if she was going to stop the fight, but wouldn’t actually perform any sort of relevant animation. This bug has been fixed.
  • For debug purposes, I made it so that pressing “S” with the debug menu open would give the player Sakyu Basu’s ring. This resulted in players getting expelled from school, since they were unaware that the “S” key had that effect. The “S” key will no longer do this.
  • If the player started a Mission Mode mission involving Nemesis being disguised as a student, and then got sent to the guidance counselor, the replaced student would re-spawn, meaning that there would be two identical students at school. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player assigned the “Sew” action to a female student, they would fail to perform the action. This bug has been fixed…although you may have difficulty perfectly lining them up with a chair in the Sewing Room.
  • The instructions for Osana’s “Befriend/Betray” Scheme now specify that the player has to raise their reputation to at least +10 before Osana will be willing to listen to Ayano tell her about a note in her locker.
  • If the player saved the game after Osana finished her Friday “make a mixtape for Senpai” event and then loaded the save, all of Osana’s Friday events would repeat from the beginning. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player used the color-picker to make a student’s eyes solid black, the game would ignore the player’s instructions and give the student grey eyes instead. This bug has been fixed.
  • In the Multi Mission screen of Mission Mode, the red highlight rectangle was appearing behind the objects it was meant to be highlighting, instead of in front of them. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player attempted to play the game using a Sony controller connected to their computer by Bluetooth, the game would not update button prompts accordingly. This bug should now be fixed.
  • During Ai’s week in 1980s Mode, when the player plugged a power strip into the musical equipment on the gym stage, the strip would change color from white to black. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player killed a rival using the Iron Maiden – and then disposed of the rival’s corpse – the game would not give the player the “Iron Maiden” achievement. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player used Custom Mode to create a protagonist who used Ayano’s original hairstyle from 2014, her hair physics would be weird and janky when at home. This bug has been fixed.
  • Missing posters will no longer appear for adult characters (nurse, coach, teachers) who go missing. This functionality was only meant to apply to students, not the adult characters.
  • In Mission Mode, Amai’s “absent student attending remotely” laptop was present at school, even though Amai is present at school in Mission Mode. This oversight has been corrected.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player tried to change the color of protagonist hairstyle #3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 77, or 207, the hair color wouldn’t update properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player assigned a student the “Locker Room” destination, they would always go to the male locker room, even if they were female. This bug has been fixed.
  • If a student council member was sitting and reading, and then shoved the player, they would not return to their “sitting and reading” animation. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player angled the camera in a specific way while standing in a specific spot in the Computer Lab, part of one wall would stop rendering. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player activated the “Alternate Timeline,” it became possible to use glass shards to craft a weapon, breaking the flow of the tutorial. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player lost the struggle with the stalker in Osana’s stealth mission, the “lost struggle” animation would not actually play. This bug has been fixed.
  • If the player interrupted Osana and Musume’s Friday event, Osana would not be able to transition into her next event properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • Some of the 1980s Mode rival hair models were not appearing correctly in Ryoba’s “low sanity hallucinations.” This bug has been fixed.
  • The “Seductive” eye type was not working properly, and was causing characters’ irises to shrink in size. This bug has been fixed.
  • It is no longer possible to talk to students while the “you’ve gone too far away from the school” red static effect is onscreen.
  • When the player disabled outlines, the outlines around Dafuni’s hairband would not disappear. This bug has been fixed.
  • Two of the boys in the 1989 Occult Club were using the same hair model. Oops!! This bug has been fixed.
  • In 1989, the bloomers inside of Ryoba’s locker were the wrong color. This oversight has been corrected.
  • Sometimes, in Custom Mode, all characters’ eyes would appear grey by default. This bug has been fixed.
  • Some of the new eye types were not functioning on the protagonist; this bug has been fixed.
  • Jokichi wasn’t using the right pose in the Senpai Shrine photo. This bug has been fixed.
  • Updated one incorrect birth year in the 1980s Mode “True Ending Timeline” sequence.
  • Fixed a typo in the subtitles for Gema’s Task.
  • Fixed typos in the subtitles for Saki’s Task.

One last thing…

In 2014, I released a simple browser game called Yandere Clicker:

It was created using the “United WebGL Player” which is no longer supported by most browsers. As a result, most people can’t play this game anymore.

So, I’ve decided to re-release it as a standalone .exe that you can run on your computer:

https://www.mediafire.com/file_premium/tg7mswcpc8kknpq/YandereClicker.zip/file

I’m not actually sure how many people out there are dying to play Yandere Clicker, but I know that this made at least *one* fan very happy, so I’ve decided to share it with everyone else, as well. Enjoy!

December 16 bug fixing build (archive)
There were a lot of bugs in the previous build – sorry about that! I’ve prepared a new update that fixes the issues.

To read a list of everything that got fixed, scroll down past this adorable artwork of Amai by kaheshiux!

Improvements

From their official artwork (and from remarks that Ryoba makes during her “introducing the next rival” monologues), we can tell that certain rivals are meant to be more pale-skinned or more tan-skinned than other rivals. Now that the game supports skin colors for female characters, some rivals’ skin colors have been updated to reflect their official artwork more accurately. Their in-game skin colors are not 100% accurate perfect replicas of their official artwork skin colors, but they’re definitely closer than they previously were. (Please note that you will only see their new skin colors reflected in normal 1980s Mode, and not in Custom Mode.)

Fixes

  • In the Custom Mode menu, if the player selected one of the last three characters (Counselor, Headmaster, Journalist) and then attempted to scroll up and edit any other character, a bunch of options would be disabled. This bug has been fixed.
  • When using certain school uniforms, if the game was instructed to give a student custom socks but not instructed to give her a custom skin color, she would appear at school wearing two pairs of socks simultaneously. This bug has been fixed.
  • If Senpai discovered a rival’s corpse while he was performing the “doubled over, catching his breath” animation in front of the legendary cherry tree, he would not be able to rotate towards the dead rival properly. This bug has been fixed.
  • Old Custom Mode save data should now be compatible with the latest build. If it doesn’t work, e-mail me your Custom Mode JSON files and I’ll see if I can figure out the problem and have it fixed in the next build.
  • In the previous build, a lot of information – such as whether or not the player had increased any of their stat points – was not being saved when the player ended the school day. This bug has been fixed.
  • The “Custom Bookbag Texture” feature was working, but as soon as the rival set her bookbag down at her desk, the bookbag texture would revert back to default. This bug has been fixed.
  • In Custom Mode, the game was not giving the protagonist the appearance that the player had designed for them (unless Custom Female Uniforms were enabled). This bug has been fixed.
  • If playing the game using a Sony controller, the button prompts in the “write a newspaper article” window would display the wrong buttons. This bug has been fixed.
  • The button prompt for pushing Ritsuko into the school pool was a physical object that the player could bump into while walking nearby it. This bug has been fixed.
  • The button prompt for pushing Ritsuko into the school pool was present at school even if Ritsuko was not present – even if it was 202X. This bug has been fixed.
  • Upon reaching the shoe lockers and changing their shoes, characters with custom skin would revert back to their default skin colors. This bug has been fixed.
  • The text “The liquid rolled to the bottom of the hill” was an oversight, and has been replaced with “The liquid flowed to the bottom of the hill.”
  • In Osana’s Befriend/Betray cutscene, her eyes were solid pink due to a missing shader. This bug has been fixed.
  • Amai’s eyebrows were not visible in her student portrait. This bug has been fixed.

December 17 bug fixing build (archive)
Ah, how embarrassing – there were several significant bugs in the previous build. My apologies! I’ve prepared a new update where those issues should be fixed.

To read a list of everything that got fixed, scroll down past this gorgeous artwork of Ayano and Sakyu by Dizaypormanove! (It was inspired by the box art for Twilight Princess!)

Improvements

  • Now that the game’s code has been reconfigured to assign skin textures to female students, the game no longer applies socks to any Custom Mode female character unless that character is specified to be wearing socks. Some players reported this as a “bug.” I do not really consider this to be a “bug” at all, but I do understand how it may be unexpected/unwanted, or simply look strange. From now on, all female students in Custom Mode will use the “Short Black” socks by default (if they haven’t already been assigned some other stockings).
  • Custom Mode data that was compatible with previous versions of Custom Mode should now be compatible with the new Custom Mode. (I know that this is the 2nd time I’m saying this, but I think it’s really going to work this time.)
  • Akane Toriyasu now has hair physics.

Fixes

  • The “Topics.JSON” file included in the previous build was faulty, preventing the game from performing any action that involved checking a student’s interests/opinions. This prevented the player from being able to customize students in Custom Mode or socialize with students during gameplay. This file has been replaced with a working version.
  • In Custom Mode, if the player assigned a non-default skin color to a student, all of the skin below that student’s neck would turn back to the default skin color after that student changed into a gym uniform, swimsuit, or lab coat. This bug has been fixed. This applies to both male and female students.
  • Now that it’s possible for both male and female students to be mind-broken slaves, the subtitle for reacting to a slave – “Huh? Why is she walking like that?” has the potential to be inaccurate depending on who the observer is looking at. This line has been re-written to be gender-neutral.
  • If the protagonist was killed by electricity at the exact moment that the police arrived at school, the game would ignore the protagonist’s death and proceed to the police investigation sequence. This is no longer possible.
  • If the player attempted to drag a rival’s corpse while Senpai was kneeling in front of the rival’s corpse, the game would softlock. This bug has been fixed.
  • Any female student with non-default skin would obtain default-colored thighs when instructed to change into swimwear. This bug has been fixed.
  • Ryoba’s eye shape was incorrect when inside of her bedroom (but only during daytime). This bug has been fixed.
  • In 202X Mode, the bullies’ legs were not textured currently. This bug has been fixed.
  • In normal 1980s Mode, Ryoba was not wearing socks in town. This bug has been fixed.
  • Fixed typo in 1980s Mode “Matchmaking Results” window.

Do you think this guy may have evolved like a human offshoot of a brachiosaurus or giraffe? A long thin neck to reach vegetation, no need for a strong chin or large mouth because he is only biting off leaves and munching with back molars instead of taking bites of meat with his front teeth. In the process of becoming fully herbivorous. I am fearful he almost certainly won't reproduce to further his lineage and confirm my suspicions.

Will bring up my theories at the next anthropological consortium (I am not in any way invited, but I'll find a way in).

I almost wonder if he uses some string length sorter after typing out an initial, unordered list of bug fixes, but then I remembered it's Yandev and expecting him to have devised such a sorter is nigh improbable.
Imagining him highlighting the text for each fix and dragging them around each time as he adds one is such a fucking absurd visual. A level of meticulousness applied for this trivial gimmick, but seemingly absent in his actual code.

After all these sorting discussions I have to ask serious question, yes, serious, so, please, no joking around - do you think Alex is autistic? Not in the internet sense, but like really medically autistic. Online diagnosis means nothing, yes, but still, I've always been wondering.
I think, he is not, since the quirks and character flaws he has can be explained by his social isolation since young age and narcissism. Also, if he was diagnosed long time ago, have no doubt, he would've used it as a shield. I am not a psychologist though, that's why I need more opinions.

I'm sorry, what? :cryblood: Who the fuck reacts positively to being shown a decapitated head? Does the delinquents' deep lore say that they are reincarnations of sengoku-era daimyos or members of los zetas? WTF, Alex.

For debug purposes, I made it so that pressing “S” with the debug menu open would give the player Sakyu Basu’s ring. This resulted in players getting expelled from school, since they were unaware that the “S” key had that effect. The “S” key will no longer do this.
Lovely. How did he not predict that using one of the movement keys for debugging purposes will lead to funny issues?

It is now possible to kidnap male students.
Knowing Alex, this change (especially after reading about expected clipping issues and wrong voice lines) was as easy as deleting a ”&&Student.Sex!==Male” in the kidnapping block of text.
However, also knowing Alex, it's just as likely that he copy-pasted the original kidnapping code, manually selected all the "Female" requirements and then backspaced the first two letters.
An interesting case of Mahan's Razor.

do you think Alex is autistic?
I lean towards no - The way he produces his videos, both in content, attempted steering of thoughts, and his deliberate "even man" tone speaks to me of someone who absolutely understands human social interaction to some innate level, in a way that wouldn't be reasonable for a social autist to develop in the kind of isolation he experiences. He's naive and inexperienced with people, but he's not socially autistic.

As for other expressions of autism, he doesn't really seem to exhibit the kind of fixations you'd expect from it. Yandere Simulators development exhibits elements of being sex obsessed from a lonely man who doesn't get laid, but it doesn't show any of the technical, developmental, or design fixations I see from autistic developers. He doesn't give two shits about code quality or optimization, he doesn't appear to derive joy from emergent systems, and he doesn't overengineer trivial things. He instead tends to focus on what he think will get him more praise from his audience. Mix in a little sexual self satisfaction and that's all there is to it.

I feel like the quirks he exhibits are more OCD than autistic, with his weird sorting habit, his insistence on not changing anything about his coding, his gameplay design attitude that an in-game guide/wiki is the best user experience, and his shut-in nature all speaks to me of someone strongly habit motivated, and unable or unwilling to change them. Even then, I'd be more inclined to see those as coping mechanisms for his social isolation and general failure to launch in life - If you don't try and change anything in your life, you'll never have to face how wrong you might have been about it up to now.

I don't think he's autistic either. He's socially ankward and reacts to criticism in a very childish manner, obviously, and he also used to compare himself to CWC quite often. But he seems to be able to read the room, so to speak. Early CWC didn't understand why people made fun of him, didn't understand who were his friends and who were just people trying to troll him, and most of all he didn't have a clue about what was happening at any given moment once his autistic mind was fooled by a persona.

Alex is not like that, and he wasn't like that ever since he became an adult at least. What seals the deal for me is the Caitlin conversation, he's clearly trying to get into her pants during the whole exchange, but he doesn't inmediately go and delete his website like how she requested, despite her telling him to do so because (allegedly) one of Alex's haters went a had a run in with her IRL, he says instead that he's gonna quit forever, which he never quite did because he returned afterwards. If he were someone that's CWC-tier autist, he would have deleted it the second that was proposed.

There's also how he deals with the "haters" when they tell him that his code sucks, instead of saying that the code is good and that the haters know nothing, he goes on and on about how there's no other way to do it, and that it'll be too time-consuming to fix it, and other excuses like that. He understands that he's not doing things the right way, but it's his laziness and his ego what makes him unable to fully accept it tl try and improve those said aspects of him, not a mistaken sense of being in the right

Wait, so they will find suspicious if you walk around with garden equipment while not being a member of gardening club, but they will be ok with you showing them a fucking head? Ok, let's pretend they do. If they are so ok with that, why won't they just fuck those bullies up like they wanted to? They even have weapons in that "model school that is actually a CEO training facility which is actually a LARP camp for 20 year olds", so what stops them? The fact that they are cheap posers? Why aren't they scared of an actual murder in front them then? Alex, real people don't behave like this, yes, even in anime. But I am glad you've finally accepted that your game is never gonna be unbanned from Twitch. Good luck with Steam though.

Well, that kinda depends on the severity of the tism. Chris is not a retard per say, but he can easily slip into fantasy and LARP without any second thought. Adam White is not nearly as bad, but somehow manages to screw himself the same way Chris did. With Alex though it is obvious that he has 0 idea how actual real people would react to his words, but again it can be blamed on his isolation. The best(or one of) example of this is his "apology" about Jane, where he basically shifts the blame on her, says that working on game made him hard for minor and then attacks character of Ally with usual "awtafkhantext" without providing that context of course. Anyone from outside his group of nuthuggers saw it as nothing as another proof of him being guilty, yet Alex spent days talking with Cameron and Jelly to craft this "masterful" defense.

Hm, not really. The best example of this is "OMG THEY MADE CHRIS PUT A MEDALLION UP HIS ASS" which wasn't exactly like this actually. First Spike told him to burn his house, which he refused to do, but did it anyway later. Then he told him to go and ask forgiveness from Snyder, which he again refused to do. And only then Spike told him about medallion and Chris immediately went for it. So it is not that simple. Chris also confessed to being gay only to retract it right after that.

There's also how he deals with the "haters" when they tell him that his code sucks, instead of saying that the code is good and that the haters know nothing, he goes on and on about how there's no other way to do it, and that it'll be too time-consuming to fix it, and other excuses like that. He understands that he's not doing things the right way, but it's his laziness and his ego what makes him unable to fully accept it tl try and improve those said aspects of him, not a mistaken sense of being in the right
I think, publicly he states that his code is alright and "the game is not finished, it is early to judge" or some shit like this. Behind closed doors it might be different.

Probably. I thought, autists like repetitive actions, but it doesn't mean that they are immune to improvement unlike Alex. It is also obvious that Alex does not enjoy making games, just throwing shit at a wall and get praised when it sticks for a second, so copypasting code noodles is just the shortest way for him to get asspats.

The reason I've asked that is not because of his sorting autism. I talked to one guy who claims to be diagnosed with autism and he said that Alex strikes him as such and I've heard it can be considered a point towards "yes". HOWEVER, you know who else diagnosed him with that? Jelly. Yep, the bitch said "LIKE OMG MY THERAPIST DIAGNOSED ME AND I DIAGNOSED ALEX WITH THE SAME QUESTIONS" which is just... I wouldn't trust this cunt with lighting a match and if she told me that I have two legs, I'd look down to check. To me it's just another proof that US psychiatry is fucked beyond repair.

Why I personally think that he might have tism is his absolute resistance to change and it is not even his code. Like Chris he is still drawing like a child or even a toddler who is strong enough to hold a pencil. I mean, I am not an artist, but I would be ashamed to draw like this, I would try to go for more realistic forms and depictions, yet Alex does it like "balloon, two sticks and a curve" without any meaningful proportions or perspective. Remember, this guy went through 2D/3D animation course in college where by his own admission they made him draw all the time, yet he is this bad. I have to wonder if he graduated at all despite him stating on his LinkedIN that he did.

Also he is or at least was absolutely unable to detect sarcasm or banter and immediately thought that people are insulting or trolling him, but you can attribute it to his inflated ego. As soon as he feels that his supremacy is about to get ruined, he goes into rage. However, one thing is really driving me towards the tism - that time when he visited Fakku for the first time and asked about their cosplayer. People replied to him "lol it was me" and he literally asked them if they were trolling or not.

On the other hand, he stated that he is afraid of making eye contact with women, but not with men, while autist seem to have that problem with people at large. His voice is not high pitched or just too loud, he mostly tries to sound deeper. His hygiene is probably not great, but he seems to shave and cut his hair from time to time, while tismos usually really unkept.

That guy also stated that because Alex is autistic he has such interests, which I disagree with. When autists fawn over something, they fawn hard. They want to know everything about it, every little detail. Yes, Alex plays games and watches anime, but he does it mostly to jerk off to women there and doesn't care about other things.

Sorry for the long post.

It's readable, gonna give him that much...
Also, i tought this guy gave up n this game like a long time ago, but nope, and, fun fact, iv;'e never played it myself, i should check it out, but knowingthe um... quality of it, or, lack thereof, i do not know how it;'s gonna run under wine/proton. IDEALY i'd want to play this thing in a VM that i delete immediatly afterwards, HOVEWER im too stupid and do not know how to do PCI-e passtrough

I wouldn't bother putting too much effort into it, just watching a video will genuinely get you the 90% of the experience. There's basically no room for player skill expression, or room for creativity and inventiveness in the way you are allowed to engage with things. Its honestly got more in common with a Visual Novel in the way that it expects you to tightly follow predefined paths that are clearly laid out before you. Most of the threat systems in the game are just there to punish exploring any sandbox that might exist.

He shoulda just mnade it a motherfucking visual novel, it
a) Wouldn't of sucked ass
b) would not take 10+ years to develop
c) would be really easy to do since all you need is a cracked version of adobe illustrator for the art, and the code itself can be done with something called "renpy", which, uses, well, python, s any 14 year old kid who farmed up a python "degree" on udemy can do that
It's just the concept of the game isn't bad, but boy is the execution atrocious, ISTG there's a voice inside my heard nagging me, begging me, once i fully finish up university, to just make a YS like game that does not suck ass. (But unfortunately, i have better things to do). Honestly, YS as a visual novel wouldn't suck too bad, because YS the way it's currently done is basically just a visual novel except you have keyboard controls and shitty anime graphics that are basically the equivalent of someone trying to make an anime styled map in the first counter strike game.

Tell us you are new to this thread without telling that you are new to this thread.

I'm, in fact, new to this thread
I would've added this reply to the OP, but no one reads it either.
I remember someone claimed that using ai voices puts your game on a slippery slope in legal terms. Otherwise considering the overall quality of that feature creep, ai voices would be an improvement.

Thinking more about this made me realize something. Remember the original pitch?

Stealth, dating Sim, school Sim, etc - clearly it is beyond a scope of just your regular visual novel. And Alex promised all of this without even finishing something like an adequate fighting between two characters or one single level from Lunar Shite which you can't finish by just jumping around. And getting rid of the cutscenes wouldn't help much, since it would still require him to create a gameplay loop with working stealth, killing methods, etc. No, he couldn't just make it like a visual novel since it wasn't what he originally promised. With a pitch like "hey v would you like to have a vn about yandere" he would be laughed at and rightfully so. Him promising stuff from beyond his skills, talents and competency was what originally "sold" this idea. This game was doomed from the start.
