Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

China doesn't want to start shit with America for the same reason a shopkeeper doesn't kill his biggest customer. The US Navy is still massive and overshadows China's by leagues. China knows this. They outnumber the US in terms of personnel, but given the quality of their training and equipment, Chinese infantry are good for human wave attacks and little else.

Is there any way we can goad Bri Bri into talking more about the military? I want to laugh at her Tom Clancy (the games) level of understanding.
That is actually one of the more positive effects of globalization: It is much less likely that the big, global players will go (directly) to war with each other, since it would simply hurt their economies too much. War on a grand scale has just become too costly.

"China sent it's sole aricraft carrier, the PLAN Liaoning through the Taiwan Strait"

This is, in this day and age, a smaller, light carrier. Only capable of holding 24 attack aircraft. With the remaining total capacity of 36 being met with helicopters.

The Nimitz class carriers (all ten of them) typically carry 60 attack aircraft with the remaining 30 capacity being met with helicopters. 90 in total.

Even the successor, the Ford class can carry a not inconsequential 75 or more aircraft. Again the majority of these being fixed wing attack aircraft, with likely less rotary aircraft as we move towards drones for Anti-submarine warfare. Again, there's due to be another ten of these built.

A single carrier strike group (the U.S 8th Fleet) can completely obliterate the PLAN.

All of it.

This is why nobody is really bothered when Russia and China send their antiques around our way.

Well, the sensible people anyway. The retarded press loves to try and court a bit of controversy for its own sake.

EDIT: Actually, about the PLA. The whole "human waves" tactic is more of a myth these days. It has been noted that training and equipment has been vastly improved within the last decade. Human Wave Attacks are no longer their simple "go to" as it was in previous decades. It has largely been believed that the PLA has been taught from the US Marines playbook and training methods, meaning there is a strong core of fighters at the heart of the PLA perfectly capable of holding out at least half decently against a western force.

Once that force is chewed up though, then its back to the Human Waves.

Same for the Russians but they've done it because they simply can't afford to human wave.

There's a new interview. My favorite part:

Third, [incumbent Democratic Congressman] Stephen Lynch comes from the steel industry. I come from tech and my husband comes from biotech. I think tech and biotech should get a lot more attention. I want more federal funding for tech and biotech in the 8th district. With better leadership Massachusetts can look more like Silicon Valley than it does today.

"We need to take even more money away from America's most vulnerable workers because I want the next Mass Effect video game to come out sooner" - prospective Congressman John Flynt

Inc: How will you reach voters?

Wu: I am a nationally known person. I have legions of women who are very excited about my candidacy. Also every tech person I know is angry about encryption policy and the loss of privacy. We are going to target technology workers like no political operation has ever targeted them before, and we won't dumb-down to them. I'll talk to them like I talk to any engineer. Twitter will be huge. I think I will be the first congressional candidate to work with [live steaming platform] Twitch and go play video games with people and reach out that way. I will keep speaking on college campuses.

This quote is pure fucking gold. Let's cut it apart and see what makes it twitch!

"I am a nationally known person" - Yes, you are, Actually, you're internationally known! Kiwis come from across the globe and the internet is available to pretty much everyone, so who ever wants to learn more about you need look no further than our very own lolcow wiki.

"I have legions of women who are very excited about my candidacy." - Again, yes you do! I'm a woman and I am very excited to see you run for office. Just not in the way that you want. Your meltdown will put Chernobyl to shame.

"we won't dumb-down to them" - HAHAHA. I suppose you're right, since they'll have to be the ones dumbing down to you, Brianna "Install a BIOS" Wu.

"I'll talk to them like I talk to any engineer." - So you're going to act like you know what you're talking about, then REEEE at the first man who points out you made a mistake? Yeah, OK, good luck getting along with all those Silicon Valley yuppies. Don't forget to bring all your backchannels.

"Twitter will be huge" - Twitter is a rotting corpse already, thanks partly to people just like you, Brianna. I guess once you've turned into the perfect echo-chamber you want it to be, you can just say its huge because everyone who "matters" uses it.

" I think I will be the first congressional candidate to work with [live steaming platform] Twitch and go play video games with people and reach out that way." - What? You're going to turn Twitch into a Twitter echo-chamber too? Only ass-patters and sockpuppet strawmen will be allowed to comment? I can see the headlines already "Congresswoman Wu demands Twitch create diversity department - Too Many White Gamers!"

"I will keep speaking on college campuses." - That's good. I hear a few liberal universities need some extra funding nowadays what with a lot of donors cutting them off out of shame. Oh yeah, MILO debate when?

I don't expect you to do anything at all.

We'll have to make sure to give the Lynch campaign a special Kiwi Farms welcome when the election gets closer and they find this cache of ammo. ''She's'' taking this seriously, you can tell by her interview with Inc (who?) Magazine.

Eat Balls, John.
I thought if that bozo [Trump] can get elected, what in the world is holding me back?
If an idiot like Trump can get elected....
The thought of me in a pink pantsuit is pretty scary.
Truth
I think people respond to honesty.
Yes they do, John

Oh my.

Wu is so exceptional... She seems to have forgotten the scandal that was the US hacking the EU - specifically German government emails. A scandal that prompted the shutting down of several prominent private encryption companies because it turned out the encryption was worthless. Before discovering it was worthless those businesses made money because people care about information security.

Then of course there's the number of private companies, not solely focused on encryption, who are currently supporting the US government's assertions on Russian election interference. But they don't make money I guess. She really is the Godzilla of tech, only a lizard could be this damn stupid, or a gold fish... a seriously fuggly snarling gold fish. The sort of gold fish children mistake for a bottom feeder. A fish as fictional as the world Wu lives in.

Stupid people take office all the time. Hiding stupidity, as a politician, isn't all that hard, you just have to learn to make a lot of vocal noises with out actually saying anything. I actually believe that's beyond Wu's abilities.

Oh god, I missed it... How many people does she think are using Ashley Madison in the district she's running in? Paint a nicer picture of your voters why don't ya Wu. Jesus.

Yeah, the "fuck my constituents, I'll work only with the shit that interests me" position always polls well. Also, isn't the Boston area already a bit of an East Coast tech industry hub?

Goddammit, I was right! Brianna actually believes that there are millions of women in the district who are just waiting for a "Totally Not a Tranny" woman to run.

Just a question here for the candidate - how many of these people excited about your campaign actually live in your district? All of the beta cucks and idealogues I have seen humoring you live in different parts of the country (mostly West Coast) and the one person we've seen you interact with from your district thinks you're an immature dumbass doing this for fame.

It definitely is, just not as much fun, sexy stuff like phone apps and video games. The stuff Wu likes.

Please please please let Brianna stick with this long enough to produce some goddamn hilarious townhall meetings. Those videos need to exist for posterity.
