Used to do that with YT shorts; clicking the shorts button would softlock the shorts and autoplay the first thing, effectively breaking the entire site.
You can turn it off in your YT settings. I hated it too, so I went looking for a way to turn it off.
ATM only the web browsers I use and FFMPEG support WebP.
GraphicsMagick and ImageMagick have both supported WEBP for years.
It still lacks support though. The image viewer in the OS I use still don't support WEBP.

I use mpv as an image viewer, and webp works just fine. I don't know if you wanna try that, but it's a unique way of using it.
I take it that "ragebait" is something where the "algorithm" tries to get you to interact with the FB site more -- and "socially engineer" you -- by exposing you to SJW BS?
Ragebait is anything designed to provoke anger to generate engagement, as angry viewers are more likely to comment and share. It exists on both sides of the political spectrum.
Imagine someone following you around and learning every single thing about you, to the point where they know more about you than you do, the things you've forgotten about they've remembered. They know everything about your life and all of your beliefs, everything the schizophrenics warned you about for years they're actually doing that shit now. Then they take all of those things they've learnt about you and figure out the exact opposite type of person to you. Then they replace all of the content you want to see with shit from these troglodytes. All the cute fluffy dogs they used to put in your feed are gone. They know you drive a car and are proud of it and keep it in a good state so now your feed is full of 'SUVs are murder' 'driving a car is a sign of fascist white supremacy' 'we slashed your tires because we dont like cars' 'if you drive a car you should be murdered subscribe to /r/fuckcars'. Enjoy cooking? Here's a thousand vegans screaming at you that because you enjoy protein derived from something other than soy or bugs that you're encouraging the rape of children and you support middle eastern genocide. Moderate conservative like half the country? Here's thousands of hedonisitc consoooomers talking about how children actually can consent. This site has a reputation for harassment right? Constantly cowtipping and shit like that? Despite doing so would get you mocked harder than the cows themselves. But the way that people talk about what 'we' 'did' to Chrischan, constantly spamming him with shit to piss him off or whatever. The people on bluesky constantly paranoid and seeing kf trolling in random places. That sort of shit where people think that this site exists solely to piss people off and fuck with them despite most people here just watching arms firmly within the ride. That antikf paranoia over nothing is how the Facebook algorithm actually works.
