Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

but..but street fighter 2 make all good...
Interesting. The person is a writer for Teen Vogue so there's a chance that Brianna might give a shit about their opinions. However, it would also potentially lead to another "hit piece" scenario so I could see her ignoring them.

There's a new interview. My favorite part:

Third, [incumbent Democratic Congressman] Stephen Lynch comes from the steel industry. I come from tech and my husband comes from biotech. I think tech and biotech should get a lot more attention. I want more federal funding for tech and biotech in the 8th district. With better leadership Massachusetts can look more like Silicon Valley than it does today.

Sorry, Wu, corruption usually requires friends in high places, and even so, I don't think federal funding works that way (this specific industry in this specific area). Especially in big cities, that's just a sliver of land, depending on density.

Inc: How will you reach voters?

Wu: I am a nationally known person. I have legions of women who are very excited about my candidacy. Also every tech person I know is angry about encryption policy and the loss of privacy. We are going to target technology workers like no political operation has ever targeted them before, and we won't dumb-down to them. I'll talk to them like I talk to any engineer. Twitter will be huge. I think I will be the first congressional candidate to work with [live steaming platform] Twitch and go play video games with people and reach out that way. I will keep speaking on college campuses.

:story:

It's like she wants to double down on failed candidacy tactics. First off, no one cares how many Twitter followers you have, because the Bernie supporters on Reddit found out the hard way that upvotes do not count in the primaries, and secondly, when you start "targeting" workers, that's always going to be a turnoff, which backfired dramatically on the Democrats in 2016 when historically Democrat states with blue-collar states all turned red (it should be noted that even WV turned red in 2012, due to the demonization of the coal industry).

Lastly, Brianna "Friend of the Gamers" Wu isn't going to fly at all since she attacks white males any chance she gets.

"We need to take even more money away from America's most vulnerable workers because I want the next Mass Effect video game to come out sooner" - prospective Congressman John Flynt
Because, you know, there's no tech industry in Massachusetts. None at all. If only they had some kind of... institute? Of technology? Maybe this mythical "Massachusetts Institute of Technology" or "MIT" for short could help with that.
Oh, wait. John is an idiot.

Tech community: What do you think of the idea of the government slamming its massive bureaucratic cock into your field?

I love the way John has to mansplain "grants" to his imaginary audience. "Grants mean you get money! And money can be exchanged for goods and services!"

I love the way John has to mansplain "grants" to his imaginary audience. "Grants mean you get money! And money can be exchanged for goods and services, burned willy-nilly and no one will ever hold you accountable for any of it!"
Amended to reflect Wu's thought process.

I dunno, I think Wu has a shot. Lynch is liable to laugh himself to death when he gets the oppo dump.

He might wait until John melts down and starts shrieking about mansplaining when called out on his total lack of credentials he's long claimed. Like having any degree at all.

Here's mine:

I love Hilary Clinton but I can't really think of any moment in the campaign where she didn't feel scripted. I just think in 2017 this old way of running for office where you have every talking point worked out and stick to a script and you're not real, I think it's dated. It goes back to this world where you got elected to office by winning newspaper endorsements. Bernie Sanders and even Donald Trump were wildly successful by being genuine and open and honest with the voters about who they are. There's a real sense when you're watching them that you're seeing the real person. I've gotten pretty far in my career by speaking my mind. I'll bring that approach to Washington. More upfront, direct, unapologetic about LGBT issues and the economy. I think people respond to honesty.
