Personally, I would argue that this definitely helps his assault case. If he regularly has people coming to his house to berate, attack, or kill him, it is not at all unreasonable for him to react differently to stranger who randomly show up there. In fact, and I will be honest with everybody here, I think if anybody shows up at your door unannounced and you want them gone, if you say "leave" and they don't you have every right to beat the shit out of them, pepper spray them, shoot them, or anything else. The fact that somebody showed up to his door on his own property and wouldn't leave so he pepper sprayed them and somehow he is being charged with assault as a result is absolutely retarded. Just because he is acting as a provocateur doesn't mean he suddenly loses his property rights and his right to defend himself.
