So Jimbo finally sold out... 26 bucks for the hat... I am guessing that he has cancer and wants to leave something for Jade,

No. It turns out that Mr. and Mrs. Metokur were debt cheats who ignored lawsuits against them for credit card debt, getting default judgments entered against them, and happened to pay off the existing default judgments against them within weeks of Jim starting to sell hats.
However, it seems unlikely that Jim has belatedly obtained the financial discipline needed to spend his hat money wisely: some of the credit cards were used for purchases for less than a year before eventually going delinquent and being charged off, and Jim recently publicly admitted to transferring money to lolicon streamer PuritySin, who had been demonetized and previously admitted to being banned from porn sites after they concluded she had streamed pornographic games featuring underage characters.
The public records also indicate Jim's journey into becoming a paranoid recluse in his anime dungeon. While he had previously accepted personal service of a lawsuit against him, in the final lawsuit available through the MCRO system he sent Jade to the door but appears to have instructed her to give her name as "Jane Doe" and describe herself as Jim's "roommate": in fact, they were already married at the time!
SHAMEFUL!

Lawsuit 1: Conciliation Court (small claims court)
Midland Funding LLC as successor in interest to Credit One Bank NA vs James O'shaughnessy
Case Number: 82-CO-16-1166
Date filed: August 2016
The first lawsuit I could find was this small claims court judgment for $577.58 relating to his Credit One Bank credit card. Jim had stopped making payments on the account over a year earlier in March 2015.
A judgment was entered in November 2015.
Including costs, Jim owed $657.58.

Jim finally paid up by April 2017.
Lawsuit 3: Civil Court
Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC vs JEM LEE
Case Number: 82-CV-17-3698
Filed: August 2017
A few weeks after Jim had paid up his unpaid Credit One Bank credit card, his girlfriend "Jade" (then known as Jem Lee) was served with a lawsuit involving $1,258.18 in debt on her Amazon credit card.
Jade was served at the apartment they shared in Forest Lake, MN at 11:50am on May 17, 2017.

Also filed was a printout showing Jade's unpaid account. According to what appears to be a printout of a database entry at the end of this document, the last payment was made on December 13, 2015.
Due to Minnesota's pocket service system, the creditors waited until they could already file for a default judgment before filing the case in August 2017. Including court costs, Jade was ordered to pay $1,627.18.
Lawsuit 4: Civil court
Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC vs JIM OSHAUGHNESSY

Jim was served with a lawsuit involving $1,309.43 in debt on his Amazon credit card on September 6, 2017 at 7:00pm.
The affidavit of service specifies that the documents were handed to and left with Jim personally.
A default judgment was entered for $1,673.43 on October 10, 2017.
Lawsuit 5: Civil court
PORTFOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES LLC vs JIM P O'SHAUGHNESSY
Case Number: 82-CV-19-1226
Filed: March 2019
This is where it gets shameful. A process server attempted to serve Jim yet again for unpaid credit card debt, this time for $2,570.22 on a Capital One credit card, on January 12, 2019 at 12:58 PM.
Jim had turned into a total anime recluse by this time and sent his wife to the door. She gave her name as "Jane Doe", and described herself as a "roommate" of Jim.
She was described as being an Asian woman ranging from 5'0'' to 5'6'', 120-160 pounds, and 25-35 years of age.
The account was opened November 2014 and the last purchase was made in October 2015. The last payment was made April 11, 2016.

A default judgment for $2,912.22 was entered.
In the weeks following Jim starting to sell hats at the end of June 2019, these judgments started getting paid off.
07/24/2019: $1,627.18 judgment against Jem Lee (listed as Case 3 above) was satisfied.
08/06/2019: $1,673.43 judgment against Jim O'Shaughnessy (listed as Case 4 above) was satisfied.
08/06/2019: $2,912.22 judgment against Jim O'Shaughnessy (listed as Case 5 above) was satisfied.
These are the dates the satisfaction of judgment was filed with the court and the date the debt was paid is likely to be earlier.
