It isn't a matter of making him infamous or disgraced, it is a matter of laughing at a series of bad decisions that he made. He is famous for clowning on the mistakes of others, he's not above having his own mistakes clowned on. To me, it isn't even a matter of good vs. evil, it is a matter of how pathetic it is to leave debts unsettled for years at a time and go to such measures to try to dodge them. In case anyone missed it, the debts were ultimately settled anyways, so he did not stick it to the financial system or anything like that. Dodging debts, especially debts that small, is pathetic and it deserves to be mocked. It isn't an epic "le based" moment, it is attempting to weasel out of the consequences of one's actions. The absolute swarm of people going "Jim dindu nuffin wrong" are equally embarrassing.

Oh my lord, what's particularly embarrassing about the collections post is that it implies that Jim had a very low credit limit and was unable to just make the bare minimum payment while doing some wealth grinding in the background. Judgments stay on credit reports longer than bankruptcies, so now we have to look into how he acquired his house in spite of these things. Zillow states his house was closed on on 3/6/20 for 250K, which means either he somehow got his credit score above 640 AND provided that his two year aggregate income was greater than whatever his mortgage payment was divided by .36 (I believe first time homebuyer would have needed income over a 2 year period that showed that the monthly mortgage payment [which would have property taxes and homeowners insurance baked in] was 36% of gross pre-tax income or less). Since he couldn't make minimum payments on credit cards in early 2019, we can infer that his income prior to that was virtually non-existent. An alternate explanation is a purchase for cash. The third explanation is that Jade had the credit rating and provable above the board income to solo qualify for the loan (most likely explanation). A fourth and unlikely explanation is that a straw buyer was used.

Qualifying for a 250K loan at 2020 interest rates (which were admittedly low, beat only by 2021 interest rates) after only settling his default judgments seven months earlier is very strange. Then again, even Jade's judgment went unsettled til the same time, so I don't know how they qualified for the mortgage. This needs some sleuthery.

That's the interesting part of all this if you look at this Jim was sued over relatively small amounts of debt. They're also from companies with a target market of people with poor credit.

The amount of information varies by card. But for instance, the Capital One card he opened in November 2014 and only used until October 2015. His last payment was in April 2016 and then it was eventually charged off.
