Thank you for the explanation, but looking at the original paperwork, it seems that the TOTAL debt was in the 1K-3K range, depending on the case. Do you mean he stonewalled for months to get a four figure debt down to a 3 figure settlement or he stonewalled for months to get a five figure debt to a four figure settlement. This didn't happen - there was no negotiation and all of the judgments were paid in full including the principal, accumulated interest during the time of nonpayment, AND court costs.

Norm McDonald maintained his medical privacy for 9 years and only disclosed it in his last days. The reason I ask is I am curious if the hat sales preceded or followed the revelation of the illness. I am honestly guessing that learning he was terminal is what got him to clean up his act and exercise some level of financial acumen. Additionally, she claimed roommate status which is weaksauce and deserves mockery. The best possible case is to suggest that it is indeed possible that Jim was not at the apartment at that time, he may have been running an errand or hanging out with an IRL friend or similar, this is possible, but the stonewalling deserves mockery.
