The most baffling part is that this sort of content was already falling out of style TEN FUCKING YEARS AGO when they first started Arin's vanity project. The fact that most of the songs were the most surface-level jokes imaginable stretched for three to five minutes only helped the songs age like milk. Who could forget eternal classics like "What if Luigi wanted to be the star??" or "What if [POPULAR GAME] and sex jokes????"? Really creative stuff.
Part of me can't help but feel a bit sad that 10 years after he started making songs and five years after their last album dropped, the best he can do is still "What if [POPULAR GAME] and sex jokes????". This is the end result of a manchild with impossibly thin skin completely rejecting any kind of criticism and surrounding himself with yes men for over a decade.

It can be done well. Z-Trip and Murs's Breakfast Club and Aesop Rock's Grace come to mind. And I've heard nerd rap parodies that are legitimately more technically impressive than most of the bullshit people try to get me to listen to -- 8Bit Boys' Bad Dudes for example. Hell, Frontalot gives any Rhymesayers rapper a run for their money in terms of flow and vocabulary.
Like everything else, Arin and Dan just kinda suck.

back when I still watched Game Grumps I remember Dan telling a story about how when they were working on a Star Bomb album he literally had a wikipedia page for Pokemon printed out and highlighted sections of it for research.
Maybe, I don't know, don't make a parody of something you don't care about in the first place

Hey everyone. Sorry to butt in on this thread with no milk and to talk about something loosely related, but I've been revisiting some cows and remembered dropsofviolet/Katie Price, the woman who stalked Arin for a while and claimed Suzy was stalking her and was her copycat. Not much of her content survives, though there are screenshots and some things are archived both here and on the other farms.
Something that still exists of her and doesn't seem to be archived though are five streams she did on Twitch (please correct me if I'm wrong). For the sake of posterity I think they should be, so I'd like to know if it would be ok to post them here.

I had to look up the name and went through some old posts in the thread. I remember her now. She was the one who insisted in trying to correct the record on when Suzy/Arin started dating and revolved her whole personality on how she and Arin met back in 2002. Here's a post from way back when summarising it for anybody else who needs a refresher. She never got a thread and this thread started serving as the GG expanded universe megathread so I don't see why it wouldn't be okay to post.

I have all the videos already, but I'm struggling to upload them. Even the smallest stream is over 400 mb and the upload keeps crashing. How do other kiwis manage to upload hours-long videos without chopping them up into 10 minute chunks?

You have a couple of options:
1) Use ffmpeg to get the video quality down and hopefully get a lighter video. There's tutorials here on the farms but I can't link right now because I'm phoneposting. Just look up "archival tools" on the search function. I've also personally used Handbrake and clicked on "Web optimised" and set it to something like "fast 720p30fps" for the quality. This might take a toll on your CPU though.
2) Split it. You can also use ffmpeg for this, as well as any video editor (but those might not help with the size)
3) If the VODs are obscenely long, like 3+ hours and you have better shit to do, what I did was make an Odysee channel and just upload shit there. Bitchute or Rumble are also probably good options. Just not YouTube since people can abuse copyright and shit gets taken down for no reason. You run the risk of those websites going down or them changing policy, but I once uploaded an entire 7 hour VOD to the Farms, cut into 10 minute 200mb chunks and I'm never doing that shit again for anything. Just keep the VODs on you in case anything happens and you need to reupload.

Arin hasn't been an animator in over a decade. It's not what he does anymore. I doubt he's seething over someone he used to be friends with getting a show.

Incorrect: it hasn't been confirmed but yeah, it's pretty obvious he is seething with contempt at Zack and Chris. So much so that he made his own pilot for a show and it was awful.

If there was some kind of evidence like a tweet or a part of a GG video where he brought it up sure I could see that but as it stands the only "evidence" he's upset over Smiling Friends is he released a show slightly after Zach's.

I find it funny that you can tell that Arin is having a midlife crisis about his legacy being the guy that says "poopy ass butt" while playing video games poorly. If I recall that sentiment was the exact reason Jontron wanted to leave Game Grumps. Arin is realizing he sold his soul, and now nothing he makes will never be as big as Game Grumps, but still will never be able to accomplish anything without it.

No just an observation from the past couple years. Everything he's done up to this point is the result of his focus on his Game Grumps brand and now he can't do anything outside of the niche he already built for himself. It must kill him to see a colleague that actually stayed the course with animation make a wildly successful show (Smiling Friends), which is why he suddenly is interested in animation again.
It's just another fruitless attempt to make anything that will allow him to make another jump like he did from Egoraptor to Game Grumps. He's made games, written books, and has a touring company, but none of it escapes the gravitational pull of Game Grumps that encompasses everything he does and ever will do and I think its starting to set in the reality of the legacy he made for himself. He knows he hit a plateau but won't accept it. He was successful but not successful enough, which is the life of a career LA ladder-climbing type Youtuber like Arin and I think something people like that encounter at some point after being at it for so long. I think they always cope that YouTube is a step in their career to real fame but can't cope when they realize that doesn't happen.

Little did he realize that when he joked that he'd try to die on air to be able to monetize it that he actually would be going that route.
At this point all he usually brings up is wanting to fuck a lot of men, pooping, and sometimes veering into california-isms. Subjective if this is an improvement over him shit-farting on a recording.

I wouldn't want my legacy to be the bad at video games poopy dicks man either but I have no sympathy for Arin here if jealousy is the main driving force after he even abandoned animation for so long despite clearly having dedicated fans, at the time.
Its not like he's supportive either, remember his whiny comment on Sr Pelo's Youtuber animation saying that its mean bullying?
