It isn't enough that Trump wants to annex Canada as a US state or take over the Panama Canal for reasons, now he wants to change the name of a mountain in Alaska from Denali to McKinley after some random US President. The original name was to make inroads with Alaskan natives, but Trump wants to cause waves over an age-old conflict. So much for unity.

You can annex a country without getting involved in a war. As for Panama, the canal was built by the US and Panama itself has a military force of like 20,000 people at best. If the US actually wants to take it back there is theoretically nothing they can actually do about it.

You're missing the point. The Panama Canal works just fine as is. Occupying it for the memes solves no problems and creates many, many more.
Whine about terrorism all you want, a sunken ship in the canal itself still fucks American consumer logistics clean in half. In the best case scenario, a special military operation would result in a huge backlog of ship traffic, as containers avoid an active war zone. In a worst case scenario, the strategic objective itself is rendered inoperable.
