Man arrested for spraying bug killer on food inside Mesa Walmart​

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A man faces multiple charges after he allegedly filmed himself spraying bug killer on food products at a Walmart Supercenter in Mesa.

Police arrested 27-year-old Charles Smith on Saturday in connection with the incident that happened on Thursday at the megastore at Stapley Drive and Baseline Road.

Mesa police said they found out about the video showing the items getting sprayed on Friday.

Police said Smith entered the store with plans to film social media pranks, but he instead grabbed a can of Hot Shot Ultra Bed Bug and Flea Killer without paying for the item.

Video uploaded to social media, but later deleted, shows Smith spraying the pesticide on various produce items available for purchase, including vegetables, fruit and rotisserie chickens.

A Walmart spokesperson said workers removed all the directly impacted products and cleaned and sanitized the affected area of the store.

Smith reportedly filmed his face, the pesticide can and the act of spraying the items before he posted the video online.

Mesa police began an investigation along with the Tempe Police Department and identified Smith as the suspect. Police contacted Smith, and he turned himself in voluntarily.

Police say Smith admitted to the act in an interview. He faces the following charges:
  • Introducing Poison (Class 6 Felony)
  • Criminal Damage (Class 1 Misdemeanor)
  • Endangerment (Class 1 Misdemeanor)
  • Theft (Class 1 Misdemeanor)

Because anyone intervening gets charged with far more serious crimes than the asshole doing stuff like spraying bug juice on veggies. The state wants to keep its monopoly on violence and will destroy any normal people to keep it. And even if you managed to beat the charges, you're bankrupt because the state will use its infinite legal war chest versus whatever assets you have on hand.

I don't care if people shoplift not my problem especially when it's for major corporations who have no problem virtually signalling about BLM

I don't shop at Walmart but I assume that like a lot of grocery stores they have a "free fruit for kids" stand.

It's a cute thing that I know little kiddos love to flock to right away. I see grocers refill it by just putting produce from other sections into it

So the idea of this evil man poisoning fruit that kids could potentially eat right away just sickens me. I wouldn't be surprised if a kid had already eaten something that he poisoned.

Please please please just have someone poison him with the same chemicals he was trying to poison others with

Walmart doesn't give anything away for free and they have nowhere to wash fruit off inside the store unless you count the sinks in the bathrooms. The free fruit for kids doesn't exist in the US as far as I've seen. Regardless, the fruit is one thing because customers will wash it off before they eat it, but the rotisserie chickens?

Should take control of his social media, then broadcast him being forced to his knees and being shot in the back of the head. All the thug ass niggers cackle over his shit, and can't bother to think that bug spray can kill people, especially children. Literally too fucking stupid to live or behave, and it's illegal to fucking hunt them like wild hogs.

Edit: As an aside, for those asking why don't people do anything; former Wal-Mart cart pusher here (herding the Silver Buffalo). When it came to shoplifting, and we had eyes on target; the undercover (there's one in every store) would call a Manager, the Manager, the undercover, another (usually a CSM), and paid security patrols (Securitas, or whoever) would get a line on how they plan to exit the store and then approach them and pretty much do the "You can come with us the easy way, or the hard way." And as a cart pusher, we were pretty much an auxillary and would be given a heads up and allowed to chase people anywhere on store property (they run and make it to the sidewalk, they're free to go). What happened, is too many people shoplifting fucks were getting injured and suing the stores for pain and suffering, so they pretty much did a no-contact policy. People will still get approached, but if they make a break for it, there's no chasing; and the only way to be officially banned for trespass, is to go to the back of the store with them and have the local PD show up and bless you as officially trespassed. Stores, of all types, Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc; all those videos you see of joggers just looting shit and running away, and maybe with a "paid security" just watching; stores don't have the money to have an insurance policy that says "Put hands on Nigger McThief." So if they want to be aggressive, just stand by and let it happen. If you intervene as an employee, well you done fucked up and will be fired; you intervene as a citizen/bystander, assault, imprisonment, etc charges. The system is literally fucking rigged against good people wanting to do what our ancestors would consider a public service and maybe upholding the fabric of society. But not anymore, just don't look at them and let them happen, maybe they won't set you on fire or whatever.
