Ukrainian developers have introduced fiber-optic control systems for ground and aerial drones, making them immune to electronic warfare (EW), Militarnyi reported on December 17. This innovation allows unmanned systems to maintain stable communication and control, even in EW-heavy environments.

The Dronarium team showcased this technology during a demonstration, integrating fiber-optic systems into drones equipped with a 10-kilometer cable and a high-speed data transfer rate of up to 1,000 Mbps. These systems ensure uninterrupted control, telemetry, and video feeds with minimal delay, enabling drones to maneuver effectively in complex terrains such as forests or urban environments.

Ukraine Assembles First Fully Domestic FPV Drone

Ukrainian defense company Vyriy Drone has completed assembly of the country’s first FPV quadcopter made entirely from domestically produced components, founder Oleksiy Babenko told Militarnyi. The achievement marks a major step in reducing reliance on Chinese imports and aligning drone development with military-specific needs.

The 10-inch quadcopter includes Ukrainian-made motors, propellers, a signal transmitter, receiver, and a Kurbas-256 thermal camera developed by Odd Systems. The flight controller and speed regulator, key innovations by Vyriy Drone, were also produced locally.

At approximately $500 per unit, the fully localized drone performs on par with its imported counterparts. Vyriy Drone expects costs to decrease with mass production, enhancing affordability for Ukrainian forces. The shift toward domestic manufacturing not only counters potential export restrictions but also enables faster adaptation to battlefield needs, a decisive factor in the rapidly evolving drone warfare landscape.

Anders Puck Nielsen gives an overview of the Russian economy and how things are going very badly for it with Centrak Bank boss largely Nabiullina giving up on efforts to constrain the onset of stagflation. I sincerely hope Trump doesn't allow Putin to partly pull victory from the jaws of defeat by lifting sanctions. Given the loss of markets in all high earning resource sectors barring LNG (which some stupid Euros keep buying while sending aid to Ukraine), the economy will topple without the fake and gay stimulus of ongoing war. Trump just needs to be not Obama (arch appeaser of Putin in the face of crime after crime) here.

Hard to cheer for that when I know it's going to fuck me too, but it is what it is. Would've been much easier if nukes weren't in the picture, could've just leveled Kremlin with everyone in it and call it a day.

Russian reviews failed abortion Nork MMG. At least he doesn't sugarcoat it and calls the baby ugly.
Notable that someone in the Russian leadership thought that there's an insufficient number of such weapons available in Russia.

Apparently the Ukrainian command is going after DeepState for their exposing them as corrupt incompetents and liars.

Response by DeepState:
We have always worked and made every effort to win and help our soldiers and our country

That's why we have an ironclad reputation and that most valuable trust among society, and most importantly, among the military. That's why we have the most famous map of the Russian-Ukrainian war in Ukraine and the world.

But unfortunately, not all the commanders-in-chief like the truth, and that's a shame.

We thank everyone for their support. A huge number of people write and call us. This support is extremely great and it gives us strength and inspiration! You are all incredible! We are working for victory and do not give up!

Lies will destroy us all!

Previously such attempts to attack journalists and military suppliers for exposing commanders have faltered after public outcry. We will see what we will see.

"There is no living place here, the settlement has simply disappeared. Here is a bus stop with Wi-Fi, Europeans lived here. Do you smell European wealth in the air?"

Russian servicemen are mocking each other by filming from the car window another settlement in the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region destroyed by the Kremlin Reich and its dead streets. Now it, like many others where the Russian boot has entered, is freed from all living things, there is devastation, scorched earth, decay and death all around. In each of these houses, peaceful people with their own history, plans, dreams and hopes lived until recently...

How does this benefit the language rights of Russian speakers in Ukraine again?

FPV drones hunting in Kursk.

I find these FPV perspective videos of hunting down people or vehicles very compelling on an animalistic level. Perhaps I was a drone in an another life.

Trying to remove the Russian 'they are genociding Russian culture in Ukraine!' claims by proving they can also have corruption, incompetence, and ass-covering instead of addressing the issues.

30 yeas after its collapse, communism is still getting people killed.

In all seriousness though, that's a pretty smart way to schlep an M2 around and keep it ready for action against Shaheds & such.
Big problem is the standard tripods for the M2 can't pivot high enough for air targets. Surprised no one made some kind of standing pedestal mount in the West after 3 years of drone wars.

We already did, though. One of the earliest uses for the M2 was as an AA gun back when biplanes were the most advanced thing in the sky.

So I haven't been in this thread for a while.

How did vatnigs respond when Trump tweeted that there were 600,000 Russian casualties?

Are they still coping that he's gonna win the war for them?
No response to that particular comment, more "Zelensky is sooooo fucked come January!"

Which to be fair, some of Trump's-people's-plans aren't exactly confidence-inspiring for the long-term civilizational war of the West vs Kremlin, much less Ukraine's position, but they are still a far cry from the "and then America cuts off all aid and pressures Europe to do the same then Russia takes Keiv for realz this time!" plan vatnigs think is coming

It looks like "worse case scenario would be Russia is able to advance at a rate that gets them to Kiev in 2090 instead of 2150; best case is Trump decides to stage a live reenactment of Battle of Khasham in Red Square" instead of the instant victory claimed by the Vatnigger squad.

I'm also seeing the UK is starting to gear up for a DMZ enforced by peacekeepers.
