General Wrestling Discussion

Me personally I think Rhea Ripley looks like a man with all of the tattoos and the whole "muscle mommy" shit really doesn't fancy me.
that's the point. you're not the target demo for her. she draws in dimes from ugly women, sexually confused women, mentally ill alt-women, and sexless male virgins. as long as she draws dimes, appearance and all that shit can go out the fuckin window

This whole conversation is stupid, just watch this match and shut the hell up already. You want women getting visceral? There you go.

joshi: they just do it better

Too bad she's spinning her wheels in the tranny fed.

She's too good for them.

I actually don't think this would work anywhere else other than AEW. WWE wouldn't let her play out this angle because it isn't a simple heel v. face thing.

TK has this thing where he lets quirky gimmicks play out as long as they aren't interfering with him doing his terrible job of booking the main card. Toni's entire run for nearly 2 years has been her and RJ City cramming a red-hot angle into the 15 minutes of TV they are given every week.

The best position in AEW is to be over with the fans but skirting under Tony wanting to get involved in your storyline.

Harley Cameron is another good example of this. She's only had a handful of matches but she's fairly solid so she usually gets on TV once a week. However, her promo work is legit great and she is building up a following despite the fact that she is a jobber. I genuinely enjoy her segments because she has great comic timing.

I think people forget that Storm's gimmick in WWE prior to leaving was she fat and liked eating cakes

LOL at comparing this nigga to Jeff Hardy.
I was arguing from a visual stand point. In an industry with long-black hair, bleach blonde buzz cuts or balding with a beard; Bandit stood out visually. Toyetic is the best term for him. Something Regal would stress to younger talent. "Do something to your look, anything to make them have to reproduce/sell new versions of you"

I'm happy for Dustin because he had all the makings of "found unresponsive in his hotel room" a few years back.

He's cleaned himself up, runs his own school, can still go in the ring and mainly just wrestles tag matches. That's pretty much the dream for a workhorse veteran.
Honestly, if Cody was still in AEW, I think we would've seen him and Dustin in a tag team.

Dustin knows he cant get paid more in any other promotion other than AEW as a 55-year old wrestler, he needs to be as ardently pro AEW to get the most money for the longest time out of the khans.

I kinda respect the carny work, good for him.
I don't even get why anyone would shit on him for the tweet. 55, this is probably his last big contract. He doesn't exactly have to do a lot of work time with the AEW schedules things. He would be a moron not to sign and it's just good sense to polish the ego of Tony.

As others have said, he was on the path of far to many wrestlers and came out the other side. I really hope though, he is planning and investing in his future.

Other than being paid more than he was in WWE, what exactly has AEW done for Goldy? People are saying Dust was on his way to an early grave, but how and why is that AEWs triumph and not his own? People don't get better unless they want it, so you should be patting Goldy on the back for getting his shit together. Not the company. Kinda like how people give DDP all the props for Jake, even though if Jake didn't want to get better nothing DDP did would have helped.

It's just kinda cringey to me because shit like that obviously isn't for anyone other than Tony so it comes off as disingenuous. Just replace AEW and Tony with WWE and Vince/H/whoever and people would have rightfully been clowning on him for being a bootlicker.

It's pro-wrestling. That tweet is nothing close to the embarrassment that was the Mae West/Mark Henry story arc that ended with her birthing an arm on TV.

I also don't think anyone is crediting AEW and Tony Khan for Dustin getting clean. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Dustin got clean before he signed with AEW.

I believe he went stone cold sober in the build up to and surrounding his time joining AEW. It's not just drugs, but he would drink a lot too. A lot of his change in personality seems to have occurred when his oldest child went trans.
