I believe they mean the system is designed in a difficult/confusing way which makes it hard for people to get/stay on it, not that that in itself is terrible.

Here are some caviots:
If, let's say he wants to declare the olds as his dependents he would need to prove that in some way with a supporting letter from someone who can vouch for that.

Second, if his mom wanted to vouch for him to help him get a bit more of a bonus they would have to be living at the same address and again he would need some type of letter to confirm that he is her caretaker and in what capacity he assists her.

Thirdly, let's say the second scenario comes into play, if peetz mother gets any type of social benefits, they will be considered into the welfare payment which could very well exceed the welfare benefit making it null and void anyway.

His best shot at this is applying as a single person with no job. But they're gonna be on him to prove hes looking for work and expect him to go to job training classes and shit. He's a single white male of working age with no criminal record who quit his job to go on welfare. Whoever he gets as a case worker will push him off the support or find any reason to cut him off I'm sure of it.

At the risk of sounding like every other salty Canadian, these benefits aren't for us. These benefits and supports are usually given with such grace to the immigrants. Canadians get the shittiest end of the stick when it comes to social assistance.
