He's been on YouTube long enough to establish his track record of treating the people who donate to him like utter dogshit while giving them non-committal and whack ass playthroughs as rewards. Fucker has tons of playthroughs showing that he sees his fans as nothing but another dollar amount; they know better. If they were stupid enough to give him money despite all the evidence presented, then they're fucking idiots. Donating to a DSP playthough is equivalent to flushing your money down a toilet. And if they donated to him anyway, that's on them.

Giving money to DSP knowing he'll abuse you regardless is a speedrun on making Dents. They fucked around with the devil and you wanna cry when they get burned? Nah, I don't feel a thing for how they get treated.

I think for your average DSP fan it is some kind of combination of him being "known" on the internet and how easy it is to get attention from him because he has nearly no viewers and whether it's conscious or unconscious, his viewers do see that he is just as if not more retarded than they are and he has "made it" so to speak. They see someone who is incredibly retarded with no friends be able to play video games for money and champion him because they see themselves in him.

I have to say that Santa playing Stellar Blade section was one of the more disturbing things I have seen on the internet. There is some incredibly twisted psychology at play here and that's not to mention how obviously he was going into it already deciding he hates it. I played Stellar Blade and thought it was a good game like 7-8/10 and I have never seen anyone say it should have been goty. DSP actually was the only one saying that as far as I've seen. During one of his daily schizo rants about the TGA nominations he even suggested Stellar Blade should have been there over Balatro without having played either of them. He is really lost in the sauce. Not sure it's the best business plan to ask for $15,000 dollars to play a game you are making clear you think is bad/boring. Really incentivizes the viewers to pay up.

Not disagreeing with you completely but I think the Wolverine story is legit. I think some parts of the story he embellished but he was the type of kid who'd throw a motherload of a tantrum when being told no. A few years ago I remember he did a reack of old Christmas commercials and without fail 90% if a toy came out in the late 80's or early to mid 90's, he mentioned having the toy.

Semi related but my favorite obscure bit of DSP lore is that when he was a kid his parents bought him Castle Greyskull or some other He-Man playset and from the sounds of it the Burnell household was a horde of Philip’s toys so they had to install it in the attic, so any time he wanted to play with it they had to lift him into the attic and supervise him as he played with half-naked men dolls.
