Denmark has a standing military of like 20k plus civilian support, and is so far from nuclear weapons that they don't even allow nuclear power. Just the US Marine Corp outnumbers them something like seven to one. Their entire navy could be handily defeated by the missile capabilities of the escorts of a carrier group, much less the airwing. Denmark would be an appetizer, not a war, if the US decided fuck it we take what we want.

Not that it matters when the meme is just to buy it, art of the deal and all that. But seeing every NATO member who's spurned their defence commitments and assumed the US will always just cover their ass watch this go down would almost be worth it.

Yup, Hearts and Minds only works if you think you can convince people to like you with the barrel of a gun. Conquest just requires you to convince people that if they don't say you're the boss, the barrel of the gun is gonna kill them. Much easier and straightforward.

IT also helps that the idea of an insurgency in greenland is a bit absurd, the entire island has less than 100k people. Even if ten percent of the population both had arms and took them up against an occupation, the marine corp once again has enough manpower to genuinely put a rifle on every street corner and starve them out.

Still, irrelevant, I don't see any reality in which greenland is taken by force. Its dumb and fun to think about though.

Maybe, but none of them really have the means to do so. You're going to have to run the gauntlet of the US Atlantic fleet to both deliver your troops and resupply them, and simply put they will lose that fight.
