The other thing with eating bugs that people don't realize is that you can't butcher a bug like you can a cow. Obviously eating leather is not a good idea for a few reasons, so when a cow is prepared for consumption, we remove the leather. With bugs, you are not going to be de-shelling the millions of bugs needed to feed people at scale, since bugs are so small as it is, and removing the shells would be a massive pain in the ass. Same goes for the rest of the nastier bits, like eyes and organs. Of course redditors would not understand this, being urbanites so disconnected from the food they eat.
Not to mention how with something like a cow or pig, you get a lot of nice cuts like ribeyes or tenderloins, where with a bug you get powder or whole crickets.
