My thoughts exactly. I said before the problem isn't the fact he face revealed, it's that he seems to have stopped posting new minecraft videos all together when people would still line up to watch them in the millions (it wouldn't be as much as it was before, but still a decent amount of views to get him by). This was also a general problem I've had with Sunny's videos, the Chris Tyson vid was good and caused a lot of autistic rage from troons and girldick suckers, but anytime he's talked about an e-celeb "falling from grace" or "on a downward spiral" just came off as sensationalist and speculative (and not in a good way like with the Chris vid).

The only reason why Dream's career took a nosedive was because he spent all his time bitching on Twitter instead of working on new content. His fans constantly complain about the content drought and he has been teasing new videos for months. However, he never releases them which becomes frustrating for his viewers. They would rather watch someone who's more consistent and frequent with their uploads.

It would be different if he streamed. At least, there would be content. I don't know why he prioritizes getting into drama with other creators over his career.

I see he posted a new video 5-6 hours ago, actual Minecraft content even. It's interesting that it's only hit 650K so far; that's incredibly good still, obviously, but I remember seeing him break 10 million views in the first five or six hours for his face reveal video a few years ago and he usually had a million views in the first hour for minecraft videos in general.

Minecraft/Dream’s content just doesn’t have the same pull it used to. Nobody really cares about minecraft anymore, Dream’s stans turned on him a while ago and now the newer generation of children just want to watch Kai Cenat and Speed.

I was reading this thread and noticed nobody said, but it came out a few days ago Dream was in Chris Tyson's discord-from-hell. Or at least, the mods seemed to talk about him in the list as if he was, and about making some fake dream change his name so they don't ping the real one.

No evidence he ever spoke in there or anything, although NSFW channel was purged, but I urge people to keep an eye out on his name. He's obviously a big Beast friend too.

It is probably nothing, maybe a tactic Chris used to groom kids (dreams in my server!), if not at least because if Dream wanted a grooming discord, he could easily make his own. But we may never know.

Guess SunnyV2 was right, Dream's career has basically stagnated, with not much signs of growth compared to the past.

Maybe it's a good thing this thread has gone quiet.

Quite surprising to see this channel so dead.
There isn’t much you can do once you move on from Minecraft. Minecraft attracts children and the youth in general. Those kids were bound to grow up and move on from Dream. This has happened to so many Minecraft YouTubers where their audience outgrew the content.

He has returned to make minecraft videos.
He released one today.

I wonder why Dream didn't branch out to be a variety streamer like many of his peers in the Dream SMP. Why face reveal when you don't put out any irl content, he could have branched out to doing vlogs like Tommyinnit or Jschlatt. He hasn't posted any new music either. This guy is being a bum, he can't even crank out much content for his fans. No wonder he fell off, all his fans have to talk about are snides coming from the British Minecrafters.

He explained this in "The Truth", but that year after the false grooming allegations killed a lot of the momentum he had been building up for post-face reveal content. I remember somebody was posting a video here a few years back of Dream with a group of other American creators scouting out a venue for content, and then of course there was the MrBeast video where he got Chilean SuperAIDs partway through. So you can see the motivation was there at first, but just quickly died out.

He still seems to be on decent enough terms with the rest of the minecraft creator space, though, so if he really wanted he could just crunch out a dozen or so video collabs over the course of 2-3 months to get himself back into algorithmic relevance.

If you look at his numbers those allegations hit near immediately after the face reveal and his views never recovered from that. Sure it sounds like a moot point when he still gets at least a million views each upload, but he used to get in the double digit millions. His latest video briefly hit the Youtube trending for gaming so he isn't completely irrelvant yet.

Instead of vlogs or music it looks like he's invested time and money into working on a system to put mo-cap humans in minecraft with technology that scans them and renders their movement real time in the game with blocks. It seems like an actual innovation in terms of making Minecraft videos but whether this kind of technology will be a flash in the pan gimmick or a legitimate niche for Minecraft content still remains to be seen.

To his credit, this video probably took a lot of work to pull off. He probably had to rig his entire house with sensors to get the plugin to work properly with the VR headset, and I wouldn't like to guess how many teething problems were encountered along the way. I do question the wisdom of him deciding to share a floor plan of his house's interior with his weirdo parasocial fans though; especially given the problems that oversharing has caused him in the past.

I think he's too socially awkward to thrive as a regular streamer. The content he makes is generally heavily edited and curated to maximize it's appeal, and when it's not, the deficits in his ability to communicate comfortably become obvious. Even in his face reveal video, he comes across as stilted and uncomfortable, and when he does decide to branch out and make IRL appearances with his friends and associates, he's frequently the least interesting person in the room.

In the end, he's not the sort of person who would naturally gravitate towards being a public figure; he's a public figure as a consequence of being a Minecraft spod who managed to unlock the YouTube algorithm's cheat codes to achieve fame and success. He's probably a shut-in at heart.

This is valid, especially considering that his most famous livestreaming-related project was the one where he made the active decision not to stream his own POV. Granted he did this mostly so any streamers doing their DSMP "Lore" wouldn't have their audiences hijacked the second Dream went live, but I can't see Dream livestreaming as often as Technoblade or Tommy/Quackity were, or as long as they were for that matter.

Maybe he is already rich/doesn't care and wanted to do other things like make music kinda like filthy frank but a lot less successfully.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the reason he stopped uploading (he’s never getting his old fame back).

Apparently he’s still making videos so I’m guessing he still has interest and try to appeal whatever fans he has left or just doing it because the money is running low.

because the money is running low
I doubt it guys probably a millionaire and unless he spent all his money like a sports player (durgs and huge partys) he probably has enough money for the rest of his life the videos he are making now are maybe for some extra easy money or nostalgia purposes because I'm sure if he wants to he could come back and make another manhunt video or smp server that would get lots of attention and views.

Fair point but you may never know.

On the topic of making come back I can see the manhunt videos being the likely way to go since with smp’s you need other streamers and tbh dream’s friends really aren’t that popular compared to back then and just give off a “this totally isn’t dsmp 2.0 guyzz!”
