  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Hey does anyone know whats going on with redacted.ch? I haven't been on the site for a month or two. I don't see any thing in search results for news.

I do it all the time. I also prefer SD rips with 2 channel audio when possible because of the significantly smaller file sizes (I save a lot of shit) and if ripped properly it still looks and sounds just fine for me.

I used to use the VLC method. Now I just rip the contents into separate files with MakeMKV first, name them to what they should be and rip with Handbrake. It's an extra step but actually saves time in the end imo.

If you are ripping a TV series or want DVD extras you are just going to have to put in a little time to sort the content. Nothing is entirely free after all.

You can buy USB DVD r/w drives for cheap and they are far better quality than anything you will find inside a laptop. I've been using mine for about 7 years now and I bought a few extras just in case.

I was running a docker image of Automatic Ripping Machine that was supposed to rip and transcode, but I found I had to wait for it to finish transcoding before switching disks otherwise it would cancel the transcode which was stupid. I got a bare bones disk ripper container and a handbrake container that I run after and it works perfectly fine. Aside from the crypto miner malware but that was isolated and dealt with.

I ended up pulling the BluRay drive out of the dying laptop and 3d printing an enclosure for it and the usb adapter and it works fine for that now.

As far as I can see, yes it is (the one I have been using for the past decade or so anyway). Might be a bit clunkier than getting stuff from a website, but I have never been unable to find a book I wanted through it and it seems more resilient to takedown measures. The providers that were there when I first started using it are still there today.

I am a bit in a pickle. I am a collector of music videos, ripping, obtaining them from DVDs.
The issue is that I cant find on any torrent site, cant even find for sale currently on Discogs, a limited 2xDVD release of music videos.

So I have the idea to pay a bit to some Discogs user that has it in exchange for sharing a DVD rip online. What do you think about this?
I think it can be risky if such a person is a snitch. Probably I could use an throwaway account.

I would love to find the original version of Taco's Puttin' on the Ritz before it got censored and was wiped from modern media.

What's a good way to get subs for old TV shows? Potplayer had a cool feature to automatically search but it barely works anymore.
