I actually disagree heavily with this. His end goal is essentially the same life-denying tyrannical bullshit that leftoid troons and their enablers want. I think fundamentally Elon is having the same issue as James Lindsay: both are 1990s liberals who found themselves under the company of reactionaries for rejecting the current progressive world order and now mistake that as meaning that their fellows are also 1990s liberals like they are.

If they can get away with cutting corners, they will do so any way they can. AI would be infinitely cheaper than hiring able bodied people to perform basic duties. I had a transhumanist phase when I was a young adult thinking "fuck yeah nanomachines" but eventually grew out of it as I realized the massive potential downsides. The main thing that makes me think Musk is being genuine in thinking that radical and underdeveloped technology will help people is his obsession with trying to brand things as "X". It's not that Americans are lazy, though some are, it's that these companies prefer paying minimum wage or nearly slave wages. What needs to happen is these places start paying more. An illegal Mexican won't have any issue getting paid 25 cents an hour to pick strawberries because any pay is preferable to living in Mexico.
