The Elder Scrolls

  • Happy Easter!
I know people here hate Patrician but this video might help.
I don't see much hate for him here, then again I could not have checked well enough. The most "hate" I see is just that his videos are just too long for most people with a life.

Man, just pick Dark Elf, Atronach birthsign and put one weapon skill in the major ones, the rest spell skills. In the minors put your favorites.
I remember creating something like this:

Major:
  • Long Blade
  • Unarmored
  • Destruction
  • Restoration
  • Conjuration
Minor:
  • Illusion
  • Alteration
  • Enchant
  • Merchantile
  • Athletics
Here you go.

I fucking hate repair.

Yeah, Tamriel Rebuilt also got an update. With the progress they're making they should finish the mainland before TES6 comes out.
Holy shit, TR too? These morrowind modders are on the extra strength adderall lol. Been playin abecean shores and it's straight up peak. Can't wait to see what's up with TR.

I'm currently running an imperial with 130 personality thanks to the Mask of Clavicus Vile, and it's really fun how speechcraft is actually consistently useful in morrowind. I'm leaving every npc "rizzed up" in my wake. Social brutality.

BIG NEWS

A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR ALL

Major Update for Tamriel Rebuilt released

AND

The first big release for Project Cyrodiil!

Don't forget to upgrade Tamriel Data to the newest version. There's also a compatibility update for Skyrim Home of the Nords out too but AFAIK it doesn't add any new content.
Thank God the old devs at Tamriel Rebuilt have now tooled up their dev stuff to now have an actual workflow in place. TR Skyrim update may be very soon if they're pushing a compatibility patch and linking up the provinces with fast travel links. I've been lurking their asset browser for months now.

Having fun with Abecean Shores so far. It might be slightly below the standards of TR, but it's still very much enjoyable. Some musings:
  • The Unemployed Orc quest is a good way to get you exploring Anvil and get roped into other quests
  • Quagga-like markings on horses are a fun touch
  • Too many Imga. I appreciate TR's restraint in regards to unusual furstocks and exotic peoples, but it isn't applied here. The first Marukhite I saw was a cool find, but then I found the second, the third, the fourth, ...
  • Seeing how Starfield treated the human body, it was nice to see the Goddess of Beauty depicted as she would be in-universe
  • Queens situation is intriguing
  • The Nord in the canalside apartments was fun to stumble upon. A unique character that really fits the setting, which is soured when...
  • ... You stumble upon the Sunny in Philadelphia reference so overt that someone who hasn't watched the show is still slapped in the face with it. At least there's the detail of the stairs indenting the apartments, helping connect the space to the larger building and making it feel cramped
  • Having NPCs move up and down confined staircases is something I had hoped would stay in the past, but I still have to recreate the Meeting on the Turret Stairs every time I want to enter Goldstone
  • They've done a pretty good job straddling the line between the Imperial Province as described in Morrowind and shown in Oblivion
  • Bendu Olu's primary title in a seemingly Imperial book is "God of Diversity"
  • After I shone a light on him but didn't turn him in, a certain Rogue absconded the city - I recognized him later among common bandits outside the city, a nice touch
Might be a 7½ out of 10. The highs are 9s and the lows are 5s, but there are more of the former than the latter.

Imga are monkey people, right? I bet they would make a great choice for a monk or other character focused on hand to hand.

Every time I hear the name Imga I just...fucking Marukh. But yeah, Altmer loving Ape race that one does anything with officially, seriously a mod has done more with Imga than anyone. Seriously there was a Lich-queen Imga according to the page but they're long gone, instead you can meet their killer in ESO and technically Legends. A Lich Gorilla would go hard.

Haven't made any lich gorillas but I did go ahead and make an Imga monk.

This happened because the ESO devs forgot about the Imga. How do you forget monkey people? That's like forgetting Alessia is into holy minotaurs.

You should also add descriptions for your build since Morrowind allows that too. I often spend a bit of time thinking of character descriptions. There are also mods that add NPC classes from the base and TR. It really helps with roleplaying immersion.

I once saw a series of live streams that involved using a series of random generators to pick an NPC class, an alternate start option, and a task to complete. The goal was to complete the task without dying, if you die you reroll everything and start over. It was pretty fun to watch and I'm surprised no one has made it into a mod.

EDIT: Found it.
