Trump’s idea to bring manufacturing jobs to Americans is through tariffs. It’s not through immigration controls. Immigration control is about public safety.

If that makes you mad, maybe you should have listened to the guy’s speeches before voting for him. Better pay attention next time.
Maybe you should take your own advice:

What is it with his hiding behind fake identities? This Adrian guy is either him or a good impersonator.
Fiduciary duty is probably most of it. Elon is at the head of like 4 or 5 major orgs that we know of, including Tesla, which is a publicly traded company. He has a legal responsibility to his investors to not take actions that negatively impact shareholder value.

Every interview, tweet, public association runs the risk of of being used as light pretext to bring a minority shareholder action for failure to protect/grow shareholder value. Frankly, I'm shocked that there haven't been more of these actions since he bought Twitter.

So yeah, he's using a burner account for deniability when he wants to be able to talk, but wants to limit legal blowback. "I don't recall saying anything like that. That guy's name is Adrian, I'm Elon."

I take a little pause from politics during the lame duck session and the holidays, and I come back here and it's wall-to-wall dooming.

Well...

Doom no more, Trump bros, doom no more.
Jeets were deceivers ever.
One foot in tech and one in poo
To nations, constant never.

The knives are out for Elon.

One thing Elon has in common with Trump: his use of social media to float test balloons about new ideas. When those ideas don't work, these are men, they don't respond by immediately backing down and apologizing profusely. They go quiet about it for a little while and then come back changing the subject. This is par for the course.

It's good that people are taking to Twitter, even getting petty punishments, to oppose this. That's "petitioning the government for redress of grievances" 101. Representative democracy isn't a concert performance, it's a call-and-response show with tons of audience input. Even if a leader gets butthurt to the point of doing cringey revenge shit, that's something people see, too. We've seen that the people aren't blind to it, and that should warm people's hearts. No one's just getting on the H1B train and just buying the Musk propaganda. This has gone over like a lead balloon.

What isn't par for the course is what's happening in liberal and leftist quarters right now. Their "Elon bad! Trump bad!" programming has malfunctioned to cause a conflict with their "racism bad!" programming. They're not doing it in big public spaces, but privately these people are talking about how annoying and shitty it is to work with jeets and how bad their work is. Asians being on the wrong end of the progressive stack means the left feels at least some ability to shit on Chinese and Indian tech workers and all of a sudden, it turns out they have some kind of European pride after all. They notice the things anyone notices: the lack of creativity, the lack of ethics, the willingness to cheat to get people in who look like them.

You've seen the messy side of the right, where it turns out that the guys at the top still hate the working man. But don't ignore that this has suddenly created a shifting moment of racial and class consciousness from the left, which feels a faint ancestral stirring toward protectionist policies. They haven't felt this way since Clinton and Obama told them NAFTA and free trade were the way forward.

The left feels the wind blowing. Increasingly, they realize we have reached the end of "the end of history." As geopolitical conflicts heat up, as right-wing-aligned billionaires line up behind unlimited skilled immigration, and the dam breaks on woke political correctness, the left has started to say things that have been forbidden for a long, long time.

You're going to find your left-wing friends becoming more open to talking about racial issues in a realistic way, very soon, talking in ways that would have induced a cancel mob to destroy them just a few years ago. Once-unsayable ideas about cultures and people not all being equal will soon come from the strangest quarters. Academics will start blowing the lid off of the idea that Chinese and Indian students have more "merit" and talk about the massive organized cheating rings that create the appearance of academic success with none of its intellectual benefits. They have been dying to say these things for years, but they didn't want to give ammunition to the chuds who hate black people and the vibrant Latinx community that mows their lawn and makes their tacos.

Strange bedfellows will come from this. Keep making your voice heard, and listen for new allies. We're in a big anti-billionaire moment between Luigi's pewpew and Elon stepping in shit. This is an unusual moment, one in which new (at least temporary) allegiances can be formed. Don't doom. Think of articulate ways to talk about your position, and consider this a vital moment for outreach and collaboration across the proverbial aisle.

Where the hell are you reading this? If anything, the left is mostly just seeing the MAGA agenda circle the drain and laughing at "the chuds". Especially the usual MSM suspects.

Anyone thinking Trump is going to leash in Vivek and Musk hasn’t been paying attention. If he was going to, he would have said something by now.

Trump is solidly anti–illegal immigration and anti–terrorist immigration. He wants to block dangerous people coming into the country. He does not care about using immigration control for economics, nor for cultural reasons. This is consistent with his actions (southern border wall, no northern border wall; muslim ban, no China or India ban).

Trump’s idea to bring manufacturing jobs to Americans is through tariffs. It’s not through immigration controls. Immigration control is about public safety.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Unfortunately, I expect nobody to learn their lesson from this and continue hoping the elite will save them one day.

Seriously dude? Are you acting coy or do you not know how small and tightly connected the elites are? Who would try to oust Musk? Musk for the last 10 years is one of the most connected people in the business world.

You know the biggest corporate leaders and giant investors all know each other right? They attend lavish rich people parties and all rub elbows. People like Musk, Warren Buffet, Larry Ellison etc are the big fish in that world. The other billionaires feel like poor people next to Elon.

And yet, a single, motivated shareholder with like 12 shares to his name, has successfully tied up Elon's Tesla compensation package in court in DE on light nearly nonexistent pretext for like a year.
