Most sizable companies still have ESG plans where they tabulate demographics and will have plans for 2030 and other milestones and guarantee you that almost every ESG plan has a commitment to reduce white male headcount, especially in management. Not complying with these policies means you are “high risk” which means you have to borrow at higher interest rates, stricter terms, etc.

As long as these visas exist, there's some way for businesses to do the needful without bothering to invest in American education, infrastructure, and training.

Once you can only get construction workers from permanent residents and citizens of the US, these companies will have a shortage...and they'll have to get creative about how to turn all those Youtube content creator wannabes into roofers and tilers. Sounds like a good challenge for American ingenuity and know-how...but why would anyone invest in that long-term project when they can import some Venezuelans?

The thorny problems in US education and job training will never be solved when we do this.

80% taxation on all remittances to other countries after the first $5k per year (enough to cover a funeral for a dead relative). This would take care of most of our issues with skilled immigration, and keep the immigrants who do come limited to the ones who are trying to build a life in the US, not funneling out dollars to support a whole village back home.
