I’d like to point out that if Trump never won re-election with a non-consecutive term, X would never have this kind of spirited debate as to what America First should mean. It would be a thousand times worse if the opposition would get into the White House again, with even more vague reasonings as to why DEI and ESG not only takes out and fires white male workers, but also minorities that would get superseded and replaced at thousands on top of thousands of foreign born workers that will only stay for the benefits but go back to their own home countries when they usurp our American interests like it’s nothing.

If anything, I don’t know what will come of this but I’m glad this debate is happening and I do hope Trump is aware of it to some extent. Without his leadership or any of the mandate that comes from it, you would get more subtle forms of censorship that would not stop the “progress” of wanting to be diverse in the tech/engineering sector.

The American Public hasn't had a actual debate on policy in years honestly, I'd argue since 2016 when every platform locked down. It's happening now. It looks terrible. Family fights often do.

The important thing is that it's happening at all. And what it shows: people are fucking tired of ANYONE taking American jobs. Right now it's India. I think this debate still would have happened if you inserted another race, just due to the timing. And you know what: good. The 1st amendment exists, and despite what some believe, the civil rights act does not supersed it.

Not really. Smart people usually aren't very athletic, and jocks aren't usually very smart. In the US you can do well either way. But thinking of it like an 80's or 90's cliched TV show or movie is really Boomer tier. When I was in high school the cheer leaders weren't that hot and I think I saw one that was a bit fat. The jocks had to keep their grades up or they were kicked off the sports teams. It doesn't mean they were smart, but they couldn't coast by on sports alone. That's just shit you see in movies. Also, most of them were ok guys. The nicest ones were the baseball and lacrosse players.

Around 2016 there was a subreddit r/TheDonald. It was a major hub of Trump's online fanbase. It was a more palatable (i.e. not as racist) version of 4chans Pepe MAGA frog memes.

Reddit throttled it. Then censored it. Then eventually banned it. Which was part of the overall wave of social media censoring of the right wing or anti-woke.

r/TheDonald migrated to their own website, and after internal betrayal and drama ended up with Patriots.win as their website.

I checked in on them today. Seems like whoever runs the place is trying to steer the users towards pro-Elon pro-H1B side. And the users are not cooperating and dissenting.

The only people I know who work in tech and didn't get replaced by Indians did so either by getting hired internally at their company, or by working for government contractors and doing work requiring security clearances. I'm very happy that I didn't fall for the "learn to code" meme.
