But that's just it - Trump never meant for Elon to be an official member of his cabinet. DOGE was important sounding busywork meant to distract Elon & keep him out of everyone's hair. Sorting through federal government waste and mismanagement is a Sisyphean task. Mind you, a task that has already been attempted many times before by much more conservative individuals, for example the late Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn. Once a year Coburn would release a report titled the "Wastebook" detailing the most "wtf" examples of things funded by taxpayer dollars. For example, in his 2014 report, he detailed how a $856,000 grant was used to train mountain lions to walk on treadmills.

Elon is going to be softly let go by Trump in the near future, mark my words. & if Trump doesn't do it, the ghost of Tom Coburn certainly will. & by ghost, I mean the traditional Republicans who don't want an uppity African immigrant with 20+ babymamas telling the President to cut their state's federally funded pork barrel projects and/or farm subsidies.
