Sounds kinda inconsistent. It's something a ton of media struggles with, Yu Yu Hakusho is probably one of the best in this regard.
It's really the third one that's the problem. Good rule lawyering breaks the power creep, especially if the protagonist is the one that's being overshadowed and it can become a loop of escalating threats that seemingly never interact. With Fate it's usually some factoids like "I am a famous dragon hunter and you are known to have dragon ancestry so my attacks are super effective".

Inconsistent power scaling is just trash writing though, everybody should be a power level fag.
you have never been in a real fight in your life then because you would know damn near anything could give either you or the person you're fighting an advantage or disadvantage
the most major and obvious one debatably being who gets the first hit in, though that's never really considered in fiction because every fight would be too short to get into

Fate flip flops between different kinds of power scaling:
* My Kung Fu is better than yours.
* Rule lawyering - "I win because my sword has anti god abilities".
* Realistic - A bullet to the head is still a bullet to the head.

It's not necessarily bad but can feel arbitrary.
Yup.
Expanded rock paper scissors is more palatable than any kind of big number > lower number. That logic is how you end up with a laser blaster somehow hurting a literal god because your retarded author couldn't think of a way to dig himself out of the hole he got himself into. Everyone being vulnerable regardless of what kind of fart cloud they might be able to do actually lets you do things.

I guess that can work as long as the facts are established ahead of time, otherwise it can feel like an asspull.

A single hit often doesn't matter in battles on the scales they're on in anime. Often they'll even let a guy get in a free clean hit to show they're big dicked. Mike Tyson in his prime could afford to take one from me too, so it's not particularly unrealistic, especially by fantasy standards.

Still keeping my expectations low for the new season's dub, translators are at their worst right now and adding shit dialogue to a show like this and enraging the fans that come with it, I just can't see them passing that up.
Also Sabat, Rial and Marchi reprising their roles will be a very bad look for them. Maybe they should for the lulzy hypocrisy that'll ensue.

The only time I liked “My laser can kill a god” is when it’s very much a bait and switch. Where the big showy attack literally is a distraction to set up the actual attack that plays against the villains weaknesses.

Shit like Dragon Ball Z gets old if it’s not a martial arts comedy underneath the Battle shounen.

I also hate the energy absorbing bullshit. You know what I want? Someone to do that and then the villain gets actual cancer or literally started falling apart because they aren’t just a bottomless well of energy. They actually have to expel the energy or face consequences.

Maybe he turned her down and she decided to ruin him, that'd be more believable
I genuinely, genuinely believe it was the PETTIEST of ""relationship"" drama that led to some sort of misunderstanding/rage between this absolutely fucked 6-pointed love triangle at funimation. Unfortunately that means Vic is somewhat responsible for being a chad manwhore getting into everyone, apparently...

These people were very clearly peas in a pod for decades, going back to the ADV days. It's where half of the various hypocrisies of the KickVic fiasco came from... Ghost Stories had all the dyke, black, and anti-Christian jokes. Sean Schemmel was calling people fags in the Berserk bloopers. There are tons of little instances like those littered around the back catalogues of the dead dubbing houses. In general, everyone was much less "HR/PR-friendly" back in the day, which made their 'progressive' era holier-than-thou attacks on Vic come off as even more petty and spiteful, and thus likely not based in truth.

I think some really gay high school click bullshit went on. Rumor, slander, and side-taking all happened at lightspeed, and suddenly Vic is fighting for his manwhore life. Like I said I think he is partly responsible now for remaining in that cancerous circle for so long and clearly fucking around. Someone didn't learn from 1Kings Chapter 11.

with the former being a parody of Iron Man called "Iron Mask" who runs "Space Sex" with Dick Rockets.
I hope it's also a Gundam F91 reference since there are lots of parallels between Musk and Iron Mask:
>incredibly autistic and robotic
>obsessed with being the strongest human ever
>wife abuser and cuck
>invented technology to track people down and eventually cull humanity

Actually happened in Buu saga, with a mook though

Technically established if you know some obscure lore about mythological/pseudo-historical figures.
That's actually pretty cool then.

Ate you referring to the dude who Hercule beat the shit out of for killing his dog? If so, Buu just blew thr guy up from the inside by overfilling him with mass like a water balloon.

Wasn’t that Cell Saga with the Clown Android that Vegeta baits because he basically gambles that the Androids have a finite amount of energy they can absorb?
I don't think that was his gamble, he let Android 19 grab him in the hopes he could rip his arms off before he lost too much energy to him. He actually did lose quite a lot and had to bluff that he didn't so Android 20 would flee, giving him a chance to eat a Senzu Bean and give chase.

No, it was Yakon
Oh, right, can't believe I forgot about him.

On the topic of Dragon Ball, I'm gonna complain here. Daima has been really good so far but the new episode created an annoying continuity error with Super. In it, Vegeta uses Super Saiyan 3, but he couldn't do it in Super. Unless they explain it away later it's gonna bug the hell out of me. It was still pretty cool to see anyway, it was a great fight he used it in.

Brutal and merciless they may be, they kinda suck as spies. At least learn the language first.

If there's one thing Chinese people don't do, it's learn other languages. They hate doing that. They really hate it because out of everyone in Asia, they're the most racist to anyone who isn't Chinese, and even then, they'll be racist to those with a different dialect.
